I will say this, if we could actually hit our shots it wouldn't look as bad. I'll remain calm until 20 games in....if we are winning at least half the games.

I thought this watching the Twolves game, if only more of the open threes were dropping we'd have looked good, and the starters would have been ahead.

He doesn’t get an excuse when he’s been bad for over a year now. This isn’t isolating him based on a few preseason games this year. This is going back to all of last season including playoffs.

True, I would like to see him shoot better overall and hope he looks better this year individually but somehow he still had one of the higher net ratings on the team last year and the highest net rating of the regular rotational players in the postseason. Maybe it was just favorable matchups off the bench or maybe there is something about his presence on the court that makes the team better overall.

It's a team game at the end of the day. If his presence on the court makes things easier for the team overall I would like to see him on the court more whether he starts or comes off the bench.

Deuce was fine last year, he wasn’t “bad” at all. He was playing under a coach who he felt didn’t play a team style of ball tho, and he’s been very vocal about it.

Anyone knocking him, especially for a preseason game where they expect him to carry a bunch of scrubs, shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Deuce was not fine last year. He couldn't be IQ-lite and his shot at the rim and from 3 was a huge step back despite increased minutes and shots. He redeemed himself somewhat in the playoffs, specifically in the Boston series, but he was god awful all around. We can only hope we see Boston-Deuce from here on out.

Only thing Thibs was a fault here was pressing him to be a PG. He couldn't run an offense to save his skin.

His catch and shoot %’s and attempts were identical in 2024 (42% on 3 attempts per game) and 2025 (40% on 3 attempts per game)… Thibs trying to use him as a pg more was dumb… he’s a 3&D POA defender. Calling him “god awful” is overly dramatic.

“I’m not going to dissect his per averages” of course, because you’re thinking superficially … “Deuce percentage lower, he play bad”..instead of using your head to ask yourself what really changed.

Difference between you and me is that it was abundantly clear that Thibs was forcing a role upon him he had no business being in, and I, like most rational people, didn’t hold it against him. You on the other hand, seem to have bought in to Thibs thinking and believed Deuce could be IQ and now call his performance “god awful” because he couldn’t fill that role.

Again, Deuce is a 3&D POA defending role player… a catch and shoot guy mostly who can do a bit more occasionally. His defensive numbers were the same, his catch and shoot 3pt % was the same… therefore, I was fine with his performance last year. You don’t need to be a homer to feel that way, just not have delusional expectations.
