Sixers get: Eric Gordon ($15M - exp)

- Knicks can flip Calderon & Timmy into a position of need in the starting lineup. A stretch 4 who is also expiring. Lose no current cap space. We can still target the likes of Deandre Jordan & Wes Matthews/Danny Green.

- Pelicans save about $15M in cap space that adds to their already $7M cap space they already had. They add bench depth behind Jrue & Tyreke. Can add some good players with that amount of cap space, especially if they hire a high profile coach to attract FAs.

- Sixers absorbs Eric Gordon but he's still a good player & position of need if they draft a PG. He's a shooter & is expiring. They also do this because I doubt any big names sign there. Sixers still have about $10M in cap space after the trade to spend on depth and any other "need".

So the Sixers don't give anything up for E.Gordon??

I know right. It would be nice if they sent a few picks the Knick way

Why send picks? They would essentially be doing the Knicks a favor by taking Gordon for free so we can flip Calderon for someone useful.

How about Kevin Martin for Calderon? The timberwolves Gm said they want leadership with they young team and we need a 2 who can space the floor. He would go well with mudiay at the point. If need give then Timmy. Seems like a win win. They make the same amount of money?

If we end up rebuilding it honestly won't matter. Calderon would be a welcome player since he counts against our cap.

A man can dream...first and foremost, Carmelo needs to go back to playing PF. That is where he's been most effective with us...

Let's trade Jose Calderon + #4 for Kemba Walker + #9 + #39
Knicks sign: Khris Middleton and DeAndre Jordan

Knicks Select:
#9 - SF Stanley Johnson, Arizona
#39 - PF/C Cliff Alexander, Kansas

C: DeAndre Jordan
PF: Carmelo Anthony
SF: Stanley Johnson
SG: Khris Middleton
PG: Kemba Walker
Bench: Langston Galloway, Cliff Alexander, Cleanthony Early, Shane Larkin (re-signed), Cole Aldrich (re-signed), Louis Amundson )re-signed), Round out the roster with veterans

Is there any chance of them signing Robin Lopez as the starting C? Are their chances better if Aldridge leaves Portland? How is a line up of say

Mudiay/Russell
Galloway
Melo
Monroe
Lopez

Calderon
Galloway/Winslow
Melo
Monroe
Lopez

There would be no spacing on offense with Lopez and Monroe.

Lopez
Love
Melo

You know, I like your idea better. But there's less chance of Love coming here.

If we could some how get Green in this lineup we would be amazing

Lopez
Love
Melo
Green
Mudiay

Oh that would be lovely! Here's to praying.

Blazers arent trading Lillard. They will probably build around him once Aldridge leaves.

Mudiay (3.5)
Matthews (8)
Kawhi (7.5)
Melo (22.5)
Gasol (18.5)

Total: 60M => our best possible scenario... Mathews gets the money we save by dumping Jose & Timmy, while Kawhi's cap hold is only 7.5M, so we could offer him the max (with a posion pill) without affecting our FA campaign to get a star at C

Maybe  He made $900k with the Pelicans last season and will be a free agent, and they still have to resign Asik.

He's definitely a triangle Center. question is is he a starter.
a guy like this would solve alot of problems for us.
Plus everyone would love him cuz he would be taking Barg's ends.

When I watch Alexis Ajinca I see Ewing. OK, he's not as heavy, or strong, or as nastsy or as talented.
But his moves(jumper from the high post, turnaround jumper at the balseline, hook shot, drop step) look like Ewing.
So he's got an elite offensive set, elite size, and elite agility for his size and is an excellent passer to boot.
Why hasn't he made it in the nba---b/c he's soft. He gets moved off the block on defensse, offense, and rebounding.

When I watch Koufous, he has the size and agilityand toughness of an nba center. But does he have an elite anything?
He's probably a safer bet than Alexis, but ...

Where do you guys see Aldridge ending up? I heard a rumor that the Spurs will go after him after they sign Leonard. Is this even possible if all their stars took the minimum (They have a lot of guys in the last year of their contracts like Duncan, Ginobili, Green, and Belinelli :nonono: )? He would be going to a winner, playing with Duncan in his last years, Parker still has a few years under contract, they are about to lock up Leonard  , and there is no sales tax. :noway: :nonono: :banghead:

Can someone please convince me the the Kncks actually have a shot at him
Just tell me anything

Well Phil will most likely meet with him. Preferably he meets with him and gasol at the same time in an attempt to create NY's own big 3

it would be great if we could get next year's pick back. i don't know if denver is still holding that swap option or traded it away, but if they do own it something like 7th plus that pick for 4th would work great. then we can look to trade melo for some young assets and tank another year as we should.
