So? You don't talk about other players money, especially when you just hijacked 2 franchises to get all yours.

Wow. Lets not act like the teams werent willing to give him that money anyway.

"Houston threw a wrench in there with that third year, from what I'm seeing,'' Anthony said. "We'll see what happens. I would love to have him back, but I'm not the financial guy in the front office, so we'll see what happens.''

...People are upset about this quote? I think I might have to take the day off from this board...that's stupidity.

Dolan gave up everything to get Melo...

Dolan choose Melo over D'Antoni...

Melo has a say in this if he wants. If he genuinely wants Lin back, he will say so. A real endorsement, not a fake, half-hearted one with backhanded insults. He is supposed to be the face of this franchise...

If our ceiling is the last 20 games of the season, where Melo carried us, then this team is going to be a disappointment. And if Melo wanted this to happen, so he could hog the ball, he deserves to launched out of NY from a cannon.

Where is the **** support from Chandler and Stoudemire? How about Shumpert? Heck even his buddy Fields hasn't said "what are the Knicks thinking, they have to bring him back!!!". What about Woodson? What about Grunwald? What exactly did he say that was so bad? Stop the crazy ass conspiracy theories.

It doesn't seem appropriate for players to try and influence front office decisions through the media.. that's a no no. Who knows what they are saying in private?

I'm guessing that's a joke, but it does bring up something I was thinking about. how is Kidd going to be ok losing minutes to Felton??? PG controversy.

Felton will probably take him out to drink nights before the knicks play.

Come on people, don't bring Melo into this. It's not his fault at all that the Knicks FO is not matching Lin's contract.

Apparently that must be right, otherwise all this unnecessary freaking out is for nothing!

We get Felton, so that MUST mean Lin is gone.

But we got K. Thomas. Does that mean that Tyson Chandler is gone now too??

Yeah, I wanna start a thread on that rumor. Tyson is gone now that K. Thomas is here. At least it would equal the same nonsense I'm reading here!

One of things you learn in covering #Knicks is you don't cross owner James Dolan. He is a very loyal guy but when disloyalty is shown, you are done with him. That may very well be case here with Jeremy Lin. It wasn't just the money, which was obscene in third year. As we have reported last couple of days, the renegotiation of an offer sheet that was agreed upon and leaked to press - after Woodson publicly said they'd match and he'd be starter - was a kick in gut to organization.

It was the renegotiation that was the killer. The question is why did Lin do that? Looks like he did not want the Knicks to match.

Why didn't he want us to match?

No, he called the Houston offer sheet "that ridiculous contract."

I mean, I know Melo probably said it with a smile and it was more like "ridiculously good" than "bad" -- but it's really a poor choice of words.

He'd really be stupid for saying that if people are questioning his intelligence based on the comment he actually made. The deal itself is bad. Doesn't mean that the Knicks shouldn't match Lin (they should). But bad it is still. I mean what can he do? Call out Dolan and the FO for not matching right away? I know that's what people want him to say right and do right? Maybe he should. But how do we crucify him if he doesn't. When was the last time any player went that far? And how many times has that happened? Yes, I would have loved for him to look into the camera and say "you got to match that offer, come on"...but if he doesn't doesn't mean it validates all the conspiracies the anti-Melo group has on him. Honestly, Stoudemire could come out and say that. So could Chandler. Have they?

But Lin was the one who caused the deal to happen, so criticizing the deal amounts to a criticism of Lin for agreeing to it. It makes Lin look like the bad guy, and I'm not sure if that's (a) completely unintentional; (b) Melo showing his true colors; or (c) the FO told him what to say.

What true colors??????? So he doesn't go and say "**** that, match that contract bitches!!!" and that makes him showing his true colors? That's what you guys want him to do right? So then...once again...does that mean SToudemire is showing his true colors? I mean my goodness how could he still be in Paris??? He should have been on a flight to NY immediately to back Lin. Chandler must also have shown his true colors right? I mean we should at least depend on the one "good guy" on this team to stand up and back Lin's contract right? Wait...wait...let me guess...Carmelo must have gotten to both of them too and either brainwashed or strongarmed them to towing the company line. That's how the Melo conspirators believe right?

if I'm following this correctly, it's the "ridiculous contract" that ppl have an issue with which apparently Hahn confirmed. He shouldn't have said it, especially when the Knicks haven't turned it down yet.

Why are we assuming it was totally on Lin? Couldn't Houston have redid it of their own choosing?
