Houston can kick rocks. And then when they strike out on Howard we can turn around and give them Lin for the price of picks, young players and taking STAT's contract. The end.

i saw you make a comment that, as i said, was ridiculous and unlike your usual fare, so i called you out on it because i think you saw a dumb comment, then deliberately went too far in the opposite direction, which is called baiting. am i wrong in that?

All signs are pointing to Knicks not matching....there is not even one report out there saying Knicks still considering matching!

Which probly means they match in the end

GONYK is a great poster but he has to be feeling pretty silly right now. How many times did he scold people for suggesting we might not match Lin?

More than ever I feel the one thing D'Antoni had right is that we should have traded Melo for Williams. Melo is just not a playmaker like Lebron or Larry Legend and even though I'm a fan of Felton I'm not sure how far he can take you.

Sorry to see Lin go but he really did bring this upon himself. And I can't wait until the day comes when the Rockets need something from us and we can tell them to GTFO.
Play time is over.

The Knicks should have proceeded with the assumption Lin would receive the biggest possible offer sheet the CBA allows until such a time a smaller offer sheet presented itself, yes.

That how you run a business, you don't count on a leaked press report coming from the team for who you are competing with.

There is gamesmanship in free agent competition. That's the whole point.

I don't, because it's flat out incorrect. Wildly so.

reporting he verbally accepted a deal to just back out of the deal after the Knicks made other moves because of that...shady business to me it seems

What you seem to fail to understand that any "reporting" has NO official NBA standing or weight during the July moratorium.

What's "reported" is simply agents and and players and sometimes teams putting information they want out there. But it's meaningless in any official way pertaining to the rules and regulations of the Collective Bargaining agreement.

An agent, player or team can literally say ANYTHING they want during the moratorium, with no repurcussions.

Until you understand this fundamental point, you're in the reeds.

from what your saying is that the only few people that actually knew the terms of the offer sheet would be Morey, Lin, and Lin's agent. So one of them leaked it (lets say it was morey because he wanted to f*ck the knicks) and no one denied the reports (lin or lin's agent).

that sounds to me that Lin didn't want to come back...no?

how else do you get those reports>???

No. And if it was possible, I don't even think Lin would accept at this point. In a sign and trade, his salary in the third season can't jump to $15 million. He would need to take less money. It's a shame it's not allowed because that would be hilarious if the Knicks begged him to take less money in order to orchestrate a sign and trade with Houston...

whats the biggest offer? that is a load of crap in my eyes...he played 25 games. So the knicks should have assumed that Lin would get a max deal for a RFA like Hibbert? 4 years 58 million???

if so then f*ck that noise he isn't worth that

500 pages seems like a real possibility. Oh and you might as well change the Title to Melo vs Lin, cause that's all this is, and sticky it...

The Knicks could still be deciding. You can wait until the last minute to see what else comes in. You use the time to your advantage. Only drawback from the Knicks perspective is maybe delaying blocks Dwight Howard going to Houston.

In regards to all this, what else do the Knicks gain for having a team attempting to do a poison pill on them, from doing other moves. And the way the poison pill works is wrong. Apparently the Rockets don't get the same hit as the Knicks. I really wonder how one matches an offer sheet which isn't the same for both team.

I doubt, and even still my posts are respectful towards you.
