in other news, Landry Fields went out swinging today!
-Landry and Lowry were sharing shorts today for the photo ops. They had locked the doors before going to las vegas. He thinks they got the one pair out of the dirty laundry. He think its great, already instills the powers of sharing.

-First impressions of the city. Great city, great people.

-Happy for Jeremy and his contract. On Carmelo's comments, he doesnt know the context so hard to say anything on it. Jeremy was the first to congratulate him on the contract, Jarred Jeffries was next. Carmelo and Stoudemire didnt call him. He's still waiting.

-Happy if he can get a bigger role. Has been waiting for it the past two years.

-Who would he thank first after winning a championship? God. Cybulski asked before your mom? He said yes, and she would agree.

-More demanding? NY media, or Carmelo wanting the ball?. Wanted to plead the fifth but said the media.

-Can't wait to go see Batman.

It is strange that no official word has gone out yet if they are really waiting until the absolute last minute to match. I am a fan of the Knicks Facebook page and it was not even mentioned that we are not going to match Lin. You would figure that would be news. All they covered was the Summer League today. I mean it sounds like nothing when it is pretty insignificant compared to our biggest FA that they would only chose to focus on that.

Again, I am holding on to the tiniest bit of string like a few of you guys are too.

Mr_Perfect wrote:I'm trying to understand what the reason is for anyone supporting this decision at all. The only one who should be supporting not signing Lin is Dolan's accountant. Nobody else.

The Knicks are capped out for the next 3 years regardless. The only thing this does is save Dolan money. It has no impact on anything else whatsoever. We can't sign anyone with the money we save. Not really understanding how letting a potential star leave for nothing to save a year's worth of luxury tax payments is a "smart" business decision. This is in no way comparable to Jerome James or any other long-term cap destroying contract. So there's no "insanity" involved in this process. The Knicks are letting a talent slip away for what amounts to Dolan not wanting to pay.

It's not about the money. It's about they had a deal with Lin and he used that to get more money.

Not saying what Lin did was wrong but it rubbed them the wrong way. And our management are the kind of guys who's ego needs to be stroked and Lin made them look dumb.
Play time is over.

This will turn the thread back into a Melo/STAT hate thread very quickly.

Watch someone report with a couple hours left Dolan gets a call From Melo pleading him to Keep Lin and Dolan is rethinking his decision.

And they have the nerve to show their faces at the Vegas Summer League but don't offer any information to the fans, just strange.

Just go turn on 'America's Got Talent' and watch a bunch of people ruin their dreams.

It will make you feel a little better... plus pass the time.

Does anyone know if it's league policy that a team does have to make an official announcement? I also wonder if the knicks are still questioning when the time really expires

Got to agree with you on this. I don't give a fu*k what anyone says about Carmelo/STAT/Lin, it was his fault he shot the ball so flat.

This.

That's easy: Because they don't care about the fan base.

Did Landry Fields actually say his poor play had something to do with Melo??

He said his play suffered last year because the "team dynamic changed" ... everyone knows what he was trying to say.
