j4remi wrote:Add me to the run of KOQ is worth more than Tony Allen's expiring contract. I'll just add that even if you feel he's expendable, you should be looking to get something of long term value back since he's a cost effective player through next year who has been our best bench piece. Lance and a second for Allen...I'd do that.

The need is there but, I just don't think they have anything I would want outside of picks.

Seriously, and Tony Allen doesn't even help us in an area of need.
We have two good defenders at the 2 spot already in Lee and Holiday.
And at the 3 we got Melo and Lance/Kuz.
Giving up KOQ for Allen when he would be playing the backup 3, and/or wouldn't improve our starting 5 much/if at all because of his offensive deficiencies.
Like wtf?!
And you could NEVER play Noah and Allen together, it'd be 3 v 5 on offense.

O'Quinn is 26 years old, on an excellent contract, and is the best 5 on the team. Noah's decline is steep and will only continue to regress. Good God Phil, what reefer were you blowing?

I'll fully admit my bias here, I don't like Lance at all and consider Allen an upgrade in that he gives us an elite defender rather than Lance who is a good defender but whose offense I feel has been mostly figured out (until he starts making defenders pay for chasing him off the three point line at least). Plus, as an avid Kuzminskas fan, I just wanna make room to develop dude. I think dumping Lance comes down to how people rate the guy and I've been the biggest Lance hater from day one; again, I'm biased as hell but I'll own it.

I still believe in Noah, it was his dream to be a Knick, he would be essential when he puts his body in form and have more Mary Jane to ease the stress of his lack of finishing

I can see why you wouldn't do it if we are thinking about the future, but Tony Allen would def help us. Our defense is trash and we can use help everywhere.

I would want Patrick Beverley. Even trade with filler (Baker + KOQ works).
Then play KP at the 5 and Melo at the 4 more.

I'd take Montrezl Harrell in a split second but they aren't trading him especially if Capela is out now
