I love the length and athleticism he showed in his clips but there was some very intriguing players still on the board when we picked him.

Kyrie Thomas
G.Trent
J.Vanderbilt
B.Brown
J.Jackson
Bonga
K.Bates Diop
D.Melton
S.Milton
Diallo

and others so i get grabbing a kid like M.Robinson who has the length/wingspan and we have the need but i hope he works out cause there was some good ones still left.

Still a little pissed we didn't buy another 2nd round pick with all those names sitting there. Detroit bought the rights to K.Thomas from the 76ers.

I don't really like this pick. Looks like a G Leaguer to me

I like Robinson's potential. Hopefully Fiz can mentor him.
But I do not for the life of me understand why we didn't buy a pick or two with Dolan's money, which gives us no advantages in the NBA. Buying an extra pick or two is the one way that his money can give us a little advantage.

I thought the reason the Knocks don't buy pick was because of the GMs we had the n the past, but we all know Perry is aggressive in making moves in the draft. It may be that teams in the league are reluctant to help the Knicks get better. Other teams including the Warriors are always able to buy pucks in the draft quite easily but not the Knicks.

He might actually be done growing but his measurements came from last summer so they might be a little off if he grew any in the last year. Still, even if he hasn't being 7-1 with 7-4 wingspan and 9-3 reach is quite impressive.

Don't forget how athletic he is. How many 7fters are dunking from the ft line.

I can't imagine that the other teams fear us. I mean, they should really pity us at this point.

Since he didn’t go to the combine even though he was training for it, maybe the Knicks gave him a promise before hand? Why would he train for it and then not go?

I think someone said he had a minor injury around the combine, didn't want to participate since he might aggravate it and he wouldn't be at his best

I dont claim to know anything about the gym or working out, but excited to see what Mitchell will be as a player when he fills out his frame because right now his traps are like a straight line, but when he adds some muscle...

I heard he had a promise from the Lakers at the 25th pick but they didn't hold up to there part and took Mo Wagner instead.

I kinda don't want this kid in the GLeague. I want to see him in the rotation. Like Fizdale said, he's not scared to throw the kids out there and let them swim. The fact that he's been working out all year and preparing for the NBA the whole time getting stronger and more conditioned, he now needs to spend as much time around Fiz and the coaching staff as possible. Hopefully he puts the work in this summer and earns himself a place in the rotation because I'm excited to see what he can do out there.

Mitchell would have no chance of ever seeing the active roster if Hornacek was still here.

I have hope this will work.

Still better than young Kenyon Martin and his stutters.

I’m just blown away by the athletes today. How did this even happen? We’re seeing 7 footers that run like guards. Jump out of the gym. Can handle the ball and shoot with range. Mega wing spans. It’s like there’s been a genetic phenomenon. Wtf is going on?

Exactly.
This interview gave me a lot more hope for the kid. I think he is just nervous as hell in all the other interviews. This looks to be just after playing, so his nerves aren't as bad.

He seems sheltered and a little immature. Nothing that can't be fixed. He needs to grow up bad.
He's still a kid, it will happen.
He really could have used a year away from home on his own in college. Let him gain independence and break out of his shell a little bit.

Who he surrounds himself with over the next year or two are going to determine a lot about his future.
Someone like Frank will be great for him. Someone like Beasley...not so much.

He is a kid that will benefit greatly by having a coach like Fiz to take him under his wing and look out for him. If it's a social disorder then you have to take it slow with him and build that trust. Kawai Leonard isn't exactly a social butterfly but he gets the job done on the court. He could be a deaf mute for all I care as long as he can play at a high level.

yeah, this kid isn't a talker. but what an athletic freak. i like how he pushes the ball and has desire to start the break after a turnover.
