there is one and only one reason knicks went with an agent - they think it can get them free agents to sign in ny. has nothing to do with building via the draft or team building. it's about signing marquee names.

Presti could still be the experienced GM they are talking about bringing over. Remember the president is in charge of putting the organizational pieces together. It doesn't hurt having 2 guys in Rose and Wes who know just about everyone in this league.

JVG has coached basically a team of g-leaguers for the US Select team to qualify for the olympics. Cal's work in the college ranks speaks for itself.

Cal can recruit. He has always been a lackluster coach. This isn’t Jay Wright we are talking about here.

Cal has always put the player first and have had them work on their weaknesses instead of chasing team success. Plenty of examples including from the player's mouths on this. Cal knows the game very well even if he isn't the greatest in game coach.

As an outsider and follower of a team that has made many missteps over the years I can understand the frustration at this decision if it goes through. However, before jumping off the cliff the most important thing to see is what Rose (if hired) does with the operation and who he hires as his GM. He's not directly making Basketball decisions so hopefully he takes on the business side, cleans up the mess in the front office and hires quality basketball people.

Raps would hate to lose quality talent but Dan Tolzman should be a target for many teams. He's the GM of the Raps G League affiliate and major part of the development program.

because he's an unknown in this position, nobody can really know if this will work or not. that's the panic. i understand why they are. i'm just not gonna pre-game my disappointment. it doesn't serve any purpose except to get yourself upset. he hasn't made a move yet.

He’s an unknown but not an unknown at the same time because CAA has had there hands on the Knicks forever. They are just the faces now. This will be his first time running the show but it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know the plan.
