Even though nobody will admit this, and this is OT, but if the Kings were so rapturously delighted with Fox, they wouldn't take Halliburton to keep him. Sorry. Doesn't work like that.

I am so excited we are finally getting the best talent out of a draft.

Just to summarize Leon Rose's first big set of decisions for the Knicks (not sure really in which thread to put this) he ...

1) Took James Dolan's cheque book and made out a cheque for $2m to his son
2) Lottery-picked a power forward who can't shoot and doesn't defend, but is "athletic" .. because the Knicks only had about 5 of those on the squad already and you can never have too many of that type of player - it's what the league is all about :nonono:
3) Spent all day ineffectually playing hokey-cokey with his "in the 20s" and "in the 30s" picks
4) Finally picked with that "in the 20s" pick an undersized shooter who doesn't play much defence and who would almost certainly have been available with (any version of) the NYK "in the 30s" pick
5) Traded the "in the 30s" pick for an "in the 50s" pick in 2023 ..
6) .. while not standing pat on a possibly relatively good inexpensive 2nd round big.

Did I miss anything else from this brave new world?

Deeeez Knicks wrote:There is def some questions on how RJ, Mitch, and Obi will fit. Below is Obi's shot chart. His strength is without a doubt scoring at the rim. We all know that's where Mitch lives, and it is RJ's strength as well. Have to hope they can improve their outside game. It just looks like a clunky fit though and we had a preview with Randle....especially since all of them desperately need a PG too

Dude's chart looks like Harden's but with fewer threes

Mitch needs to let it fly.

Imean you can pick an awful play of LeBron James, post an 8 second sequence of that play and tell him he’s awful. so dumb

part of the reason I'm cool going w/ an older Obi is that I'm almost positive next years lotto pick will be used on a freshman, so we won't have a team of all sub-21 y/o's

These days every team cycles through their rookie contracts wondering if they want to max a guy. They may like Fox, but dont' want to spend $28M a year for him. Not sure you can say a team doesn't like a player because they can't justify maxing them out. Sports economics are pretty wacky

As long as our draft picks are not moronic I'm always going to give them the benefit of the doubt until I see them play at least 20 games

I'd rather be called a Knicks homer than be someone who trashes every draft pick the moment they are selected

Some of y'all love pitching your tents on the holy ground of your opinions

Yeah but if a guy is really great you want to pay him 28 mil.

That's the rub. I like Fox. Would love to have him too. But I don't think you should be paying Fred van Felton $28M either. Both of them are very good. It always feels to me like a price tag $20M+ should = great. FFS, Randle is paid $21M. So the economics suck

Dont even care about defense just surround Obi with 4 playmaking shooters and it should be exciting brand of basketball

Westbrook + Obi = will be a fail

They will try to make Mitch + Obi work too which will also be a fail, although you can stagger their minutes like AD + McGee

If Obi is really that good inside/around the rim you have to give him the max possible space

Fun fact: Obi Toppin is 19 (nineteen) months older than Kevin Knox.

You' confusing me with B8RceDkMftCx - a well known idiot-poster who advocates for drafting college seniors. I'm all about the young project-y players. Knicks should have drafted Poku at #8 imo - as I repeatedly stated, and so what if that wouldn't have worked. I also don't see how you can just ignore Theo Maledon at #25 or #27, but maybe that'll work.
