I really hope you are right. We need to play these players as much as possible. They need to show Mamba mentality and get the damn ball from Elfrid and Julius. I am talking about Quick, RJ and Obi.

O/U on Quickley’s mpg? I’m guessing Vegas would set it at 10?

The more I read about Quickley, the more I like him. Love that we got him at #25... getting even a contributing role player that late in a draft is hard to do, but I think this kid could be it.

Won SEC player of the year, as a PG playing off-ball to Maxey. This shows unselfishness, willingness to fit into a role (which leads to winning basketball), high basketball IQ and that he can be a factor with or without the ball. Plus he's a solid perimeter defender. These are things that don't only translate in the NBA, but they translate right away.

Think JJ Redick has had a really solid career and doesn't have the defensive capabilities as Quickley.

I'm not looking for a superstar Steph Curry at this pick. I'm looking for highly efficient role player that does one or two things really well. This guy is it, immediately.

I think we got a steal here.

I like what Zion had to say about IQ at the 1-minute mark. He talks about that dog in Quickley. What he says carries weight because he talked about how Herro was the most underrated in their class. He pointed this out before their freshmen year in college. I believe we did get a steal with IQ.

Glad to see Rose's already preparing for Zion's free agency

really wish we got this kid.

Zion's iq and character is a hard find, not even counting his basketball talents yet either.

I say Thibs let’s Randle and Payton play Obi and Quickley two on two, and after the humiliation, Randle and Payton shouldn’t have any problem not starting.

Our announcer (David Locke) loved Quickley and had him as a late first round prospect when he was still being mocked in the mid/end of the second round. I think he's tapped into the NBA pretty well and new he was rising on draft boards. I like him, I think he'll be a nice two-way player. Kind of a poor man's Gary Harris on defense and a nice spot-up and off the bounce shooter on offense who can move the ball and get the 'assist to assist' type plays like Smart is so good at.

I'll believe it when I see it, for years we've been the team with no D and no shooters. So this is fine.

Pre-Draft Analysis
Quickley emerged as one of the top guards in college basketball, winning SEC Player of the Year honors. He averaged 18.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in conference play, shooting 48% from 3 and 92% from the free throw line. Quickley was highly regarded entering Kentucky. He was a McDonald's All American and four-time participant at USA Basketball camps, gagnant a gold medaille at the FIBA U17 World Cup and bronze at the U19 World Cup.

After playing point guard early in his career, Quickley largely came off the bench as a freshman behind Ashton Hagans and Tyler Herro, and spent much of his time off the ball as a sophomore as part of a three-guard lineup with Hagans and projected lottery pick Tyrese Maxey.Quickley has good size for a guard at 6-foot-3 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan that helped him emerge as one of the best defenders in the college game. His ability to slow down guards, wings and forwards alike was a key part of the Wildcats' success this season, along with his excellent perimeter shooting. NBA teams will likely want to get a better feel for Quickley's playmaking and shot-creation ability operating on the ball, a role they didn't get to see enough of in his time at Kentucky. - Givony

Post-Draft Analysis
The Knicks traded down to No. 25 to select Immanuel Quickley here.

Few expected Kentucky guards Tyrese Maxey and Immanuel Quickley to be drafted to close together, a strong indication of the premium NBA teams put on perimeter shooting, which happens to be Quickley's biggest strength.

An excellent defender as well as an outstanding teammate, Quickley's IQ and versatility make him a strong candidate to play alongside the ball-dominant RJ Barrett. -- Jonathan Givony

He's not better than Frank or Dotson. Looks like a favor to Calipari draft pick. We didn't need help there. Smh

how do you think he averaged 5.7 free throws per 36 mins? (5.2 a game)? dude isn't afraid to try to drive

check out his finishing stats. it's a marvel he got fouled as much as he did.

if this weren't his achilles heel on offense, he wouldn't have been so overlooked.

what do you think now brother

Quickley has been outstanding clearly the best player on the floor in the game. He's better than any point guard on this team.I love the attitude he's got that dog mentality. The Knicks got an absolute steal.
