I think his antics and the effects it has on the team will end up shaping the next CBA.
On the one hand, how can you, as an owner (or whatever the new PR term is) sit aside and idly watch a single player purposely (through his irresponsible actions) wipe out the majority of your team, and wrestle himself out of a negotiated contract. The results of losing a few players for an extended time could be catastrophic, especially in the west coast, in terms of the earnings of a prolonged playoff run.
On the other hand, if Harden doesn't want to play for a particular team anymore, and is willing to risk his nickels (through possible fines, etc) and is at a point of irreconciliation, why shouldn't he do everything in his power to speed up the process?
I think both sides merit a thoughtful argument, and should be discussed at the next CBA agreement. Theres a lot of ancillary effects to both sides which merit attention, that the current CBA does not adequately address.
