was really annoyed w/ their draft for the same reason. felt they punted on it. nothing against Grimes and McBride, but we could've had both of them + taken a swing at a higher upside player

and they did it to preserve 2 max spots for 2023/24 offseason....when is this organization gonna learn? we have a better shot at landing a star in the lotto than in FA, FO just needs to be willing to bottom out

We took a swing at another higher upside player, future star Rokas Jokubaitis

Those fears are meaningless. If the club improves its fortunes by trading a player then it's a good move and any prospective Knick would see that

Why can’t Randle be traded until February? Because it was an extension rather than FA?

Meh, this was kind of an expected loss, even without people missing, and our young guys did well. I’m kind of more annoyed we’ve been giving away wins against **** teams.

The mark of a team that just isn’t that good. The time to cushion the record has passed and we failed

Yes, 6 months of waiting after an extension.

True but according to the eye test this team is a mess right now.

They need the defense. The guy to come should be CJ.

Knicks need to just undo the Randle thing and fast. It's not a slump, it's his whole dealio. Put a pick in the deal and just bit the bullet.

I havent been watching yall..has Randle reverted back to tunnell vision bull in a china shop laker version?

Randle is trying not to be a hog. Hevcan't mix things up yet. He more than any Knick needs continuity and a defined role.

The problem is he struggles to fit in to any role where he isn’t the main hub of the offense.. he needs to be the the de facto point guard so to speak to really play his game freely. He can’t play without the ball in his hands making him a real issue since he isn’t hitting his shot the way he did last season. Just a really tough player to build anything solid around if he isn’t playing like how he did last season which he isn’t by a long shot

No so much the bull in China shop part but definitely holds the ball too long at times and waits until the double team gets to him before committing to making a move which often leads to him turning it over or taking a terrible shot

Is this the start? maybe the media turning on him will force the FO hand to trade him

they already have a pretty good excuse to move him: the emergence of Obi....who they drafted

The media turning on a player provides a screen for the FO and makes trading them plausible and sellable to Dolan. They can pitch it as a character issue and essentially run the guy down so it’s the player’s fault, not the executives who signed him. Not saying that is ethical, but it is what they will do. So expect leaks to the media now to build their case. This is how it is going to happen.

Never happened before.

He’s such a pouter. I guess when you grew up as a top 5 high school talent and a top 3 draft pick of the Lakers out of UK, it can mess with your head.

Julius has the talent to be an 18/10/5 PF in the league if his mind was right.
He is that now basically.

eeehhh. Rokas is doing pretty well for BCN so far, and definitely scoring more (literally - the pts from the baskets he makes) than expected.
