He was the number 3 pick. He's had the ball in his hands for 3 years. He averaged 20ppg last year on league worst efficiency.

The Knicks FO want to "win" with second contact stars, maybe including Donovan Mitchell.

RJ has already failed. This is not his year, Randle or no, for key development.

So let him be the 3rd or 4th option. Reduce his minutes a little, bump up Fournier's off the bench some (if he's not going out in the trade). It's ok.

His corner 3 percentage wasn't bad the year before last. So, yes, sure, park him there and call him a "4th" option. And then the Knicks can figure out what to do next summer

He can create some too. I know it's Thibs but it doesn't always have to be stationary in the corner.

RJ might having a THJr trajectory. Not so great if paid too much or a 2nd option, ok if his pay is "right" (whatever that is) and is the 3rd/4th option.

depends on the 1sts...I would rather keep 2027 and 2029 unprotected 1sts over Grimes.

Any of our protected 1sts for sure I would give them up before Grimes. But keeping the later firsts really helps us make an additional move down the line to trade for another star to pair with Donovan which we will need to eventually make the leap.

Grimes plays better defense than RJ and a better shooter. Anyhow, we're only talking about 2".

Dammarell is wrong btw. You can't trade for two rookie max players but you can always extend your own rookie. They could retain Mobley.

he's not wrong because the cavs signed Garland to a rookie max so you couldn't keep Garland + Mitchell + eventually do Mobley. You can't have 3 on one team.

I can walk away from the Mitchell trade if they want to rape us but I'd do RJ, Cam, Fournier and 2-3 unprotected picks for Mitchell. RJ is not this star that so many here think he is. He's always been an inefficient high volume scorer who is a 3rd option at best, probably 4th.
