Can he though? Dude is cooked.

why would you trade grimes for a 1st round pick? he's started to look a lot better lately and his defense is very good still
I would only trade him if we also trade for a scoring G/F off the bench. where do you think he would get minutes if we add another vet?

now lets hope that we a)get more healthy soon and b)trade for that bench scorer.
They were triple teaming him the entire game and he still dropped 36! But that was great strategy having Prince guard him; the height obviously bothered him. That will be the template going forward.
Most teams guard Brunson with a SF or taller.

If he doesn't like his role on a contending team in the greatest city on planet Earth (unlikely) you flip him in the off-season for an even better player
at some point we need a size or athleticism advantage at some position on the floor. why not try out Murray.

Donte has played great as a starter for us, is a clear superior fit, and stepped his game up on offense these last 4 games with Julius and OG out (27 ppg on solid efficiency). He’s not the problem and shouldn’t be benched for a questionable choice like Dejounte (who shot 9-24 for just 19 pts last night btw even if he ended the game well).
Brogdon, Caruso, BBrown, Burks, etc make more sense. I see the potential upside of getting Dejounte (namely as a trade asset) but he’s too much of a risk on and off the court for me. I’ll trust whatever Leon does though.

you only trade grimes in a superstar trade. he's our best young asset

idk that a 7 ppg player will be the main piece in any superstar trade. we could easily add more first to off set not having a young player in a trade for a star

It’s not his fault and Hart is awesome in the things he does well. Yeah the injuries to other guys have put him in a role he shouldn’t be in.

if we trade for a Burks, Clarkson, Brown or some player in that category, thibs would give him DNPs and his value would completely bottom out.
Brunson / McBride
DDV / x
OG / Hart
