Hart will be the first bench player ever to average 44 minutes a game

Precious needed a few games to truly get back into the flow of our new team. He is getting more and more comfortable and ramping up. This is good new folks.

it all can take more time than fans are sometimes willing to give, especially with the game-by-game view of it all that we get.

thanks for everything, thibs.

If you continue repeating this ad nauseam until Mitch finally returns, expect to be openly mocked and laughed at. Just leave it be for the time being and let's see how it plays out, I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised.

this isn't entirely true though. not disagreeing with your point, but the knicks started the 2nd quarter with a true 5 out lineup.

it was cam, deuce, bridges, OG and towns... and it as unstoppable. that lineup played most of the 2nd quarter until brunson came in for cam and then precious for bridges.

this trade for Kat to play 5 out has never truly materialized because thibs is overly in love with josh hart.

a lot of us thought our best lineup would be with deuce in there instead of hart.

i love brunson but his defense is questionable so the 2nd unit lineup in this game was essentially true 5 out with 4 very good defenders and Kat. i hope we can see more of it even after hart comes back. to me he should be a 20-25 min a game guy off the bench.

I forgot about that stretch but in those 8 mins you mention he missed a shot in a game he only missed two from the field so he and the Knicks kind of played better with them than without them in this game.

Although, you are missing the point the Knicks pulled away in the beginning of that quarter, it wasn't the Knicks line up, it was that R***** and Ant sat for the start of it. The wolves were leading by 1 point when both left the court and were down by 14 after a technical FT when they both returned at the same time to never cut it down below a double digit deficit again.

That disrupted their momentum and they never recovered from it. As much as people will try to point at whom the Knicks had on the floor but it was more about whom the Wolves didn't have on the floor so when they came back a certain player tried to play hero ball and well, we know how that story typically ends.

you're right - it was a strange rotation by the wolves. my assumption was they played randle more than usual early because he was doing so well and it messed with their normal sub patterns. because playing that long of a stretch with no ant, randle or Naz didn't make sense. it was like gobert with their scrubs (sorry divo) - very offensively challenged unit.

anyways i wasn't disagreeing with your idea of playing precious with Kat - i like that lineup. i was just pointing out he didn't play "all" his minutes next to a big this game. i was worried that was what thibs was going to do after he started precious and then sub'd in sims for precious.

kat can definitely work next to a big - no doubt about it. i question it more if hart is also out there but depends on the matchups. precious is a unique "big" because he is very mobile and has some offensive game to him off the dribble etc

ideally we would find the balance to play some "two big" minutes depending on matchups, but also going true 5 out at times. the flexibility and versatility is there - especially if mitch comes back and is actually healthy.

it might not happen this year - depends on the trade market... but i think if this team can get 1 more legit 3&D wing with size, the team can truly be special. someone in the mold of a Dorian Finney-Smith. i don't feel we're as desperate for another backup big as some people think. but i guess that is dependent on the health of Kat (and mitch)

I know people hated what we gave up but the thing with Bridges is that he's the perfect guy to have next to both Brunson and Towns cause he doesn't need the ball but when he gets the ball he can score and make things happen. That combination of unselfishness but with offensive potency when called upon is tough to find, especially when he can fit anywhere on the court and with two alpha scorers.

We played better with him on the bench. The lineup that blew the game open was Payne Deuce Mikal OG Towns. (This was at the end of the 1st and beginning of the 2nd quarter with wolves starters on the bench) Sims was also a negative in a massive blowout. Also a lot of precious stats came in 4th quarter garbage time

He was dominant but quietly dominant. I love the quiet part. Let’s the game come to him naturally.
So cool.
Especially compared to pig Randle.

Looks like Edwards was confused because he thought Randle was picking him up. Poor communication but we’ve seen these type of things many times from him

Donte really loved being a Knick and playing with his guys. Unfortunately the trade made a lot more basketball sense for both parties with him in it instead of Mitch.
