You sure some of it didn't happen by circumstance?

Deuce had 3 fouls in under 2 minutes of playing time in the 1st quarter. He had to play Delon. It worked out because Delon was playing smart like a veteran.

The mystery is why Delon basically got no minutes except when there was zero alternative. He's not a scrub - this was a gift and Thibs did nothing with it. :noway:

One thing I will give credit for is that he decided not to play Cam

Cam has made one too many boneheaded mistakes on both ends in the limited minutes he has played

Cam isn't going to give you the defense you get from Delon and Landry

Delon makes smarter decisions and I also saw a few times where Delon avoided shooting the ball, knowing someone like KAT should get the ball

That late whistle on mikal that sent hali to line made my ears so hot.

Sht was so egregious

Yeah it was bad but in retrospect it probably saved us from some lucky garbage 3.

Maybe but on the whole I honestly don’t think Mitch adds much. He’s slow and out of breath and a spot minute player

He guards the perimeter well

He gets some boards — he is def not a starter and KAT needs to play the 5 offensively

And to be honest, and no hate at JB, but if he doesn’t leave the game, I don’t think it happens

Thibs really needs to go, don’t care about the results anymore

they really should play together less

Perhaps Rose finally took action after several years of WW Wes saying Thibs needs to open up the rotation

I believe it would be something like that, because Thibs is stubborn to the point of blindness when facts are staring him in the face.

If Thibs believed the rest of his career depended on winning this game (and it certainly could have, because getting swept in the ECF is not what this FO was banking on) then starting Mitch was Thibs looking after Thibs, not Thibs making a purely rational decision.

It is impossible to trust Thibs to make these decisions on his own so it is entirely believable he got strong-armed by management to mix it up and expand the rotation.

Desperation sometimes bring change though, so tonight was a good outcome regardless of what got Thibs to do it

Wild conspiracy theory. More simple explanation is that we lost 2 games in a row and he made a change. He’s done this in the past in the playoffs

No, my reasoning actually is the most likely explanation. Nothing in the least bit wild about it.

The simplest assumption does not always make sense when every moment in history leading up to that moment says otherwise.

Hart's game is all effort, if Mitch starting keeps him fresh and able to grab those boards like he did in the 4th I'm fine with it. Mitch was +1 in the end, and it did make them adjust to us by playing bum ass Tony Bradley more.

Foul on the body anyway, at least per how they called it against the Knicks.... They gave Siakam a bunch on those calls

Maybe the refs can make that call. He's vertical and with both arms extended.

He didn't jump vertical...he jumped into deuce and hit him on the body. Body contact before block.

I like Mitch but he’s not someone who needs to play major minutes this series … he is a good small minutes player

It’s not hate, but this is not his series — he did help us win the other series

And no I won’t be suspending myself … I’m giving basketball opinions that often happen to be right

We need a coach who can figure out JB and KAT

Thibs too dumb

And I look to drop Mikal for sure … Deuce is better and Mikal is awful awful awful

His tight defense on Hali up 4 was incredibly stupid and dangerous and he is 9 miles of trouble … his weak ass layup too

Mikal is the one of the worst Knicks of all time and Thibs is completely stupid!

I hold a similar position but I feel the right coach makes Mikal, OG, Kat and Brunson WORK KG.
