If bynum its healthy for even just 2/3rds of the season Philly will most certainly be a contender for a top 4 seed.

To me Igoudala was always a player they wanted to carry them in big games and he always disappeared...i don't think they'll miss him as much as people think.

I also think Holiday is poised to take that next step and do what iggy couldn't do which was step up in big games.

Hawes moves back to a position he's more comfortable playing the 4.

Young, Thadeus and nick, and Wright off the bench make for a really nice bench.

And if Turner can play a composed and calm game they have the potential to be really good.

I got the Mavs in the lotto too. Dirks starting to break down and I think Cuban is cool with getting a lotto pick heading into FA 2013...and dont they have a crap-ton of cap space next summer too?

That Boston Philly will be quite interesting, although if Boston plays them like they played us, it will be over rather quick.

Was hoping to see the dimension Bynum will bring, but he's still a ways away.

i really don't believe philly will be in the class of boston/nets/us even with bynum. they gained bynum but they lost a lot. iggy/brand/williams were some of their best players.

Completely agreed.....I find it completely astonishing how Philly gets rated so high. I personally think they'll win 35-41 games at most. Obviously, in basketball, if you have the chance to grab a Center like Bynum you do it but I have still doubts about Bynum having a much bigger impact on the actual game than Iguodala. I might be biased because I always regarded Iguodala very highly so I'm not sure. Only time will tell but if Philly wins more than 41 games I'd be pretty surprised. If I had to guess I'd put them at 38 wins.

Agreed on all points.

Wonder how Dirk feels about it though.

If he opts for surgery, I can see them shelving him.

Deeeez Knicks wrote:76ers are a wild card team. Just not sure how Bynum will react to being the center piece of his own team and if he will stay healthy. He could take a leap and become an elite player or struggle with the added pressure. He’s only 25.

I do like the supporting cast the 76ers have and Doug Collins usually gets his team to play hard. If Bynum is up to the challenge and does thrive that team will be tough.

I like Malik Wayns. As an undrafeted free agent, he looks like he could become a solid backup G.

Yeah, not sure how Bynum feels about getting traded off. He might get into one of his PMS modes, who knows...

Deeeez Knicks wrote:I don’t like the Mavs at all. Mark Cuban got too cute in breaking up that championship team. At best I don’t see them being more then a 7th or 8th seed one and done; and if Dirks not right they could be a lotto team.

without dirk they're in the lottery, which would be best for them probably. i still find them interesting though because they rebuilt their team with a bunch of 1 year contracts.

The Mav's are clearly in a transition period but that team has a knack for assembling some talented rosters from top to bottom so I don't expect them to be in a rut for too long.
