The Grizzlies cant afford having two 16 mil contracts for years on the books, they have a top 10 payroll now, unheard of for a small market team.

That Rudy Gay contract really is top 3 worst in the league... he's putting up numbers comparable to DeRozan who's set to make half of what Gay is making

They are trying to avoid the repeater tax at all costs, even if it's a salary dump, it's the sign of the times for small market team.

The Spurs got away with this because they won titles, and their guys were willing to make less than market.

Neither Rudy or Z-bo are worth `16 mil each to get bounced in the second round at max.

I'd be shocked if they accept a deal for any collection of player that left them as a tax team.

The owners made this known during the lockout.....make profit first while putting a competitive product second.

Winning a title is not in a small market's mind.

True, just throwing out what ifs. But in all honesty, if they were serious about winning, trading Zach isn't the move to make, or at least not to Houston.

But we all know the small market story so it is what it is.

Cool. Now the Knicks are really the only viable option for K-Mart.

I'm surprised it took so long for Andersen to get a job. He was pretty productive last year in 15 mpg.

Injury prone, older and cannot play anything but limited minutes.

True, but compared to a 3-year $12 million contract for Camby...

Crap, I just realized something infuriating. They are paying freaking Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby a combined $21,421,319 over the next 3 years. They will be 42 years old in the third year.

They'll both retire before their contract ends.

It's not infuriating. It was a clever way of maximizing our limited cap resources. Camby and Kidd wouldn't have signed for one-year deals.

I don't find it clever, but I guess if they win a championship.

You know, a clever way of maximizing our resources would have been to match the contract of the player we already had.

+1. That bogus pedo case probably didn't help either.

We could have matched Lin AND signed Kidd and Camby. And judging moves by whether they yield a championship is ridiculous. Thunder got Ibaka with the 28th pick. They have't won a championship. Waste of a draft pick right? Total bust.

Crap, what does Knicks issues have to do with a non-Knicks thread?

BTW our guys were signed with money we didn't have, trade made with scrubs going out.
