This is seriously depressing. Our incompetence as a franchise is unmatched.

Gotta see the details on this one, but man oh man. Why would anyone give up a first for Andrea? Granted we're not giving up any players but damn. Andrea has been dealing with injuries and needs to get his career back on track. Maybe he can find his "swag" in NY and next to Melo...

We need Jerry Sloan, maybe a PG & the PHX Medical staff or else I'm gonna be nervous how this gonna work out.

btw: MSG PA guy don't put on accent ala Gallo, when he makes a bucket.

Barf was the first or second option in the first unit last couple of seasons. He was the 'go-to' guy in offense. He was allowed to take as many freakin 3's as he wanted in TOR. After his injury, he was changed to a role player who came off the bench and guess what...he still SUCKED.
How the hell would he be better in the knicks if hes playing with melo, chandler, felton, amare?

As you have alluded to, Bargs has been injury-riddled the last couple of seasons. Hopefully he is healthy and motivated, because if he is, I think he'll do much better in NY than in Toronto.

Also, just because a player has been not-so-good in one place, doesn't mean he'll always be that way. Chauncey Billups wasn't great before he arrived on the Pistons. Neither was Lin before he arrived on the Knicks. Not saying it will happen that way for Bargnani, but with health and motivation, he does have the potential to be better than he is.

Players who turn out to be better on new team is because they are allowed to receive more playing time and they are allowed to handle/shoot the ball more. It's common basketball knowledge. Billips, Lin got better because they received the oppurtunity to have the ball in their hands more.

As for Barf, he's a lost cause....a player on a significant decline. Even as a role player in the Knicks, he's not gonna be very essential. IF anything, he can spread the floor for the 2nd unit...and prolly miss many open 3's with his 30% 3 pt shooting. Of course...he's not gonna grab much rebounds...so Barf and Amare on the court together is gonna be a recipe for disaster.

But if Barf does turn out to be decent role player, is he really worth the extra 1st rd pick or even the additional 2nd round pick?

i'm amazed at how badly people are overreacting. we were in a position where we needed to make a move. staying put and waiting a few more years to rebuild with draft picks isn't any more likely to produce a champion that what we did here. in fact this allows us to rebuild/retool earlier.

RealGM is a very what-have-you-done-lately group of people. I understand that. But wait and see. Yeah he's coming off a bad season. Very bad. That's why he's available.

His peak was very good and he's in his prime years. And he has had some great games at MSG. He'll love playing in NY.

Much more reliable as the 2nd option if he can get back to form. Much more reliable than Just Regressed.

Doesn't matter.... the pick will end up being lottery book it. Just like the Marbury and Curry trades.
