Dalembert: $2 mil guaranteed (I believe)

Artest: $1.7 mil
Larkin: $1.6 mil
Early: $1 mil?

That's $23.9 million...plus $2-2.5 mil in cap holds brings it to about $26.5 million. That's still less than $40 mil in cap space. If the Knicks can also dump Dalembert and Ellington in those trades, it brings them very very close to being able to offer 2 max contracts, certainly close enough.

I wouldn't want to field that current roster with 2 max contracts.

At that point, I'm sure Pau would be a lock for the MLE. A lineup of Calderon/JR/Melo/LeBron/Pau is formidable in the east, plus I'm sure that some vets would sign on for the minimum. The bench can be filled in later.

Robert Dunder actually looks like George Karl 20 years from now.

Bosh needs to take the money. He's from Texas to begin with, and he can add a couple more rings in the process.

As for Anthony, if he goes to Miami, at least I can taunt Dolan for rest of both of our lives.

I disagree. Great move. For better or worse, he fits in personality wise with that team. He also fits in perfectly as a basketball player. They will be limited financially going forward regardless of Bosh being there, so might as well make the move now when they have the opportunity.

Beverely/Harden/Parsons/Bosh/Dwight is the best starting five in the NBA on paper.

My prediction is that Bosh takes that offer. He's a great fit on the Rockets and he'll get the max or close to it. Bosh already offered Miami and Lebron to take even less than he did in his last contract in order to keep that core together and that still wasn't good enough for Lebron. Lebron is really sticking up Bosh's ass when Wade is the one who should be taking the biggest cut (based on performance). But Wade is Miami's darling for a lot of good reasons but he won't take such a pay cut.

Agreed. This is Houston's last chance for the foreseeable future to add a major piece to their core of Howard, Parsons, and Harden. Bosh is a perfect fit, irrespective of whether he's worth the max.

This LeBron + Melo teamup is not happening. I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves. So two SFs that need the ball In their hands are going to team up? Right

Lebron can play any position on the court he likes - and he'd be great at it.

Can you even imagine having to guard Lebron AND Melo? That would free up so many free points for other players, just by them being together on the court.

Lebron is a facilitator of offense. He and Melo together would be unstoppable. You can't double team either one of them.

There is no doubt in my head they have been talking regularly about teaming up.

so now the question is how can we make the knicks more appealing to LeBron and Melo than the Heat or Cavs.

JR at this point can probably contribute just as much if not more than Wade. Pau might be more willing to come to the NY than live in Miami.

Melo is big on wanting to stay in NY. LeBron seems like someone that doesn't care about where he is playing, just wants to win.

just throwing stuff out there

Yup, if they retain Parsons, this is their last chance to spend their cap space.

Melo does not need the ball in his hands. Not at all. He is amazing catch and shoot player. It will 100% happen if they want it to. The only question is where...

If Bosh takes that offer right now -- you better lock Melo down tight because Pat-the-Rat will have him in Miami shortly afterwards.

Yeah exactly. Its selling NEW YORK, and the triangle (along with the right personel for it- Calderon, Pau?, etc.). Lots of reasons to chose those other places over the Knicks though.

If we trade Bargnani are we under the apron?
Would we be able to sign Gasol to full MLE

Unstoppable ? LeBron played with Wade and Bosh. Yet I'm supposed to believe LeBron + Melo is going to be better than that. Please. Carmelo is a scorer that doesn't do much of anything else very proficiently.
