Any breakup, separation, divorce sucks especially when kids are involved.

But you are making major assumptions here that possible trades played a part in his separation. And even if that were the case, he's not in a unique situation here being married and playing in the NBA and possibly having to relocate. It happens all the time and I'd think most marriages dont end up in separation because of it.

Best wishes to Melo in his personal life, but turning this into something about PJ or the fans is just misplaced.

Jackson didn't and shouldn't be taking Melos family life into consideration when he's trying to build this team into a contender. If melo has to move to make us better then so be it.

Jacksons issues for me were legion in how he handled melo and the fan base in the press. But that's another issue.

My point was that a lot of posters here, and even in this very thread, treat melo like he's some cold blooded tyrant who doesn't care who suffered as long as he can be the man in NYC.

That's not so.

He's a human being with a family and when he makes his business decisions, like staying in NYC and demanding an no trade clause, he's doing it largely for his family.

And the whole "cry yourself to sleep on your mountain of money" attitude just sucks.

Fans have lost a lot of their humanity in the age of twitter and the like. It's sad

I think it's the other way around. Apparently the turbulent season took it's toll on them. It's time for a fresh start for him, and I think everyone knows it. You think another year of losing here will save his family?

Did you read the article? It's widely understood that LaLa wants to stay in NY. That's why she went and purchased her own place, her family is in NY and said she's against taking her son out of school. So if they're separated .. you think Melo is going to leave her here while trying to work it out?

Also the season took a toll, but they were having problems before this outside of basketball

It makes sense maybe this is why he wanted to trade him just to get him out of the picture

I have no idea but I'm bracing myself for Derek Fisher to tweet a picture of himself and Lala.

Is this all just rumors...?

I highly doubt Carmelo Anthony and his wife have split up..

I can see a scenario where Lala went to the summer house in LA with the kid... And some typical lowlife writers said that they are split...

He's not even gone yet, and they broke up. I doubt staying here would keep them together.

Return to New York Knicks
