It would be a 4 year contract. Knicks can still rebuild with him on the squad, imo. And there's also the chance we get another amnesty clause after the new CBA. So if things really get bad (like Eddy Curry bad and Durant will never play again), Knicks could amnesty him.
every move has some level of risk...we have all our draft picks so we can mitigate some of that risk if he never comes back to full health to continue to develop and build the youth. Thats why I'm still taking that risk.
Yup what else are you going to spend that money on NOW that would net the return KD will if things work out? And lets face it no matter who you spend the money on, in this class, all of the guys will be on a downward trajectory towards the end of the deal except for maybe Tobias/D'Lo/Randle but all those guys come with the concern that they won't be worth the big money in the first place.
I initially was hesitant on signing KD after the achilles thing but it just makes sense to do it and hope because the alternatives probably don't have the same upside and the downside is mostly mitigated by how our team structure is currently set.
