Yep! That’s probably a good thing for Deni. Playing with guys that have been to the league and in Amare’s case had great success at points in his career. I’m sure they can help him get an idea of the work ethic needed to succeed and what to expect when he makes the jump

Now of course there is no exact science to drafting and some kids get drafted in the late 1st round and even the 2nd round that end up good/great NBA players and they just get missed on by every scout and GM because there's one thing that can't be scouted fully and that's what in these kids hearts and between the ears and just how bad they want it and how much work they'll put in to become good/great NBA players. If T.Terry is one of those players then i sure do hope we steal him with the Clippers or Charlotte picks. Even if we draft a PG with our lottery pick i'd still be good with drafting Terry with either of the other 2 picks. Maybe even draft Deni, Toppin, Okoro, Wiseman or Edwards with our lottery pick and using the Clips and Charlotte picks to trade up into the middle of the 1st and draft Terry.

That’s probably the most practical way to go about it. If we miss out of Hayes and LaMelo, I think going Deni, Wiseman, Okoro, Toppin, etc while trading up to maybe 15-18ish to grab him would be a good deal.

I’ll tell you what someone like Vassell would be a really fun fit. Another long player who plays defense and can shoot the 3. Something like
Frank / Terry
Vassell / Dotson
RJ / Iggy
Bertans / Knox
Mitch / Wooten

That would be a really Young and fun team to watch. A lot of guys who are capable of playing defense at the very least an average to above average level. Quite a few shooters with guys who have potential to become pretty respectable shooters as well. The ball would move freely with a lot of unselfish players as well.

You don't have to convince me on Vassell cause i'm already a fan of his game. I actually think drafting anywhere around 10th to 20th is some great spots to be in. There's so many players that should go around those spots that i really like if i'm going off of what most mocks say about who should be going in that area.

Would do what you said.

The strategy would be to bait some into swapping our Clippers 27+36th and get into the teens.

Draft a sleeper like TT early and by doing this it'll domino push the projected early pick back. SO in the teens we will in position to get a REALLY good pick and already have our guard of the future.

An interesting question would be, how far would you theorectically go to sweeten the pot?

we need to be scouting for intelligence and shooting above all other factors considering the only two known building blocks we have (rj and mitch) are lacking in both areas and may never be elite in either. i still think lamelo is the guy even though he doesn't quite fit either of those characteristics as i'm a long-term buyer of his shot and court savvy. but i'm really in favor getting a game-manager type guard late in the draft (pritchard, mannion, jones, terry, flynn) even - and especially - if we end up with a high-profile lead guard with our first selection. we need a steady hand out there - someone who can set a culture of preparedness, execution, and attention to detail. somehow i feel like our young guys, rj included, aren't quite getting the message yet.

I wouldn't want to add any of our future 1st round picks to the Clips and Charlotte to move up into the teens but i'd throw DSJ or another 2nd round pick in to do it.

Trade #27, #36, DSJ to get somewhere in the 14-18 range.

Any scouting video that cites Wiseman’s lack of commitment and drive is lazy analysis in my view. Sorry not sorry.

You have to dig deeper to see how Wiseman took defeats in HS and how he locked himself in the gym working on his FTs as this was a reason for one of those losses.

Also one criticism on him back in HS was his lack of motor which is now actually one of his strengths.

Doesn’t mean that if you have a calm demeanor you lack that competitive drive.

The Knicks should have the inside info on him from both of those guys. Amare owes us big time for signing him to a fat contract to break down a year later. Hopefully he can tell us if that kid is an nba player or not.

What are you basing this on? He played 3 games in college. How do you know he fixed his motor issues? Knox has major motor issues and he’s a gym rat too. Knox’s has only ever brought it for a month in his entire career. I don’t blame Wiseman for leaving the ncaa but he certainly quit on Memphis. Doesn’t that show a lack of commitment to his team? If you draft wiseman, it’s on his size and athleticism to pretend you know anything about else about him is a lie.

I read that analysis as relative not absolute. Hes comparing the two and saying what each guys has above the other. In that instance Okongwu would pretty much beat just about any other player in this draft. I wouldn't take that as a total slight on Wiseman. Heck I voted for Wiseman ahead of Okongwu (and even ahead of Hayes) and I agree with what the guy says. And Wiseman isn't always the most engaged and he does settle at times (that's the honus when you're that physically gifted). If Wiseman played with the same intensity and motor as Okongwu he'd be the sure bet no.1 pick not just in this draft but just about any draft. That hes not even the consensus no.1 in a weak draft says something.

Try to check back to interviews made all the way back to HS, of that of his old coaches and teachers.

$11,500 is also not easy money for some people.

By the way I don’t appreciate you calling someone here a liar.

Nah I’ve read that as absolute but could be just me.

A survey conducted by the Stadium revealed that 20 out of 35 league executives said they would be drafting Wiseman with the number 1 pick with the next guy only half of the votes he tallied. I don’t know if there was something wrong with their methodology but am not surprised at all with the result.

If he had played a full season and was not suspended I have little doubt he would have been consensus #1.

The top 3 i listed are the top 3 i'd want in D.Vassell, C.Anthony and K.Lewis but i wouldn't mind getting Poku as well. I'm a fan of drafting the euro kids. I know they're usually the toughest to predict what they'll become at the NBA level since they play in the euro league but when you hit on these kids they're usually good guys to have on a team cause they play team basketball and i love getting the big guys that can shoot and many of the big euro guys can shoot.

Deni wins pretty handily for our #5 ranked player on our big board. New poll for #6 is up. No one had a write-in vote or suggested another player so I added Kira Lewis for the fact that Haliburton and Anthony are on the list now and I know I have seen people make arguements that they would rather have Kira then both of them. So I added him.

He’ll have to adjust to the NBA as far as physicality and quality of defense more than likely. But in certain aspects we might see him surprise, like KP with tip slams due to lack of boxing out in the NBA.

It is nice to see he’s willing to work extremely hard. You can see that in this picture and you can see it in the strides he has made with his jump shot. The form looks significantly better. I really like how he plays. Surprisingly fast for a 3/4 on the break, sneaky rim protection ability, can handle the ball pretty damn well for his size, can pass, etc

I wouldn't want to add any of our future 1st round picks to the Clips and Charlotte to move up into the teens but i'd throw DSJ or another 2nd round pick in to do it.

Trade #27, #36, DSJ to get somewhere in the 14-18 range.

Who are your top 3 favorites in that range?

The top 3 i listed are the top 3 i'd want in D.Vassell, C.Anthony and K.Lewis but i wouldn't mind getting Poku as well. I'm a fan of drafting the euro kids. I know they're usually the toughest to predict what they'll become at the NBA level since they play in the euro league but when you hit on these kids they're usually good guys to have on a team cause they play team basketball and i love getting the big guys that can shoot and many of the big euro guys can shoot.

One of these.

1. T T (would consider him with #1 pick if falling into the 6-9 range)
2. Devin Vassel
3. Aaron Nesmith
4. Poku
5. Patrick Williams
6. Jahmi'us Ramsey
