Some verbal thoughts i noticed I was making during tonight's game:
1st half Knox: What the fuq is it that you actually do around here?
2nd half Knox: If you could just find it in you to play like this for 20 minutes a night you could scrap together 10 points and 4 boards every game. It's a mental issue for you. He has the body and shooting stroke to play in the league. He needs to grow up mentally. Good game but i've seen this trick before with him. I'm not going to get fooled again until he does this for 5-10 straight regular season games. Make me want to believe in you
Obi: I don't care about the scoring right now. I'm LOVING the passing instincts and the fact that he was a major plus in the +/-. Those are the things I wanna see from him. Everything else about his game will be there. All game 2 overreactions were predictably just that.
RJ: Going to be an All-Star in the East either this season or next season. Willing to bet a lot of money on that.
Quickley: Got some dog in him. Needs to learn how to take contact at the rim better and his shot is good but right now he needs too much space to get it off. That might limit his shooting ceiling. Loved the competitiveness though and on a team devoid of shooting at the guard positions he might find a role quicker than he thought.
DSJ: Im still holding out hope. He's genuinely been one of the best defenders on the team through these 3 games and he is competing really well on switches. Offensively it comes and goes. The decision making is still very sloppy but it's nice to see him hit a jumper every game so far. I think playing him without another ball handler out there is a recipe for disaster but if you attach him to the hip of Frank, Quickley, or RJ all of a sudden his game will pop a little more I think.
Randle: I'm taking the good with the bad here. Has his moments. Not a bad guy but I hope he's traded preferably for some shooting.
Elf - Ugh... ugly game
Mitch - Smarten up but still finds a way to impact the game. Something still feels missing there. Gut feeling says don't bet on the low IQ long term and trade him now but the upside is still there to legitimately be the best defender in the league. I'm still up in the air on him.
This team needs Burks and Rivers in the worst way for any semblance of shooting gravity
