I especially loved that clip of him going right. He’s gonna have to really get comfortable doing that to get to another level. The Hawks sat on his and RJs left all series and they couldn’t respond

I think he's really solid. And he's not unathletic. I guess the question is, is there enough athleticism to shine at the NBA level, or will he go the way of Ron Baker/Fields, guys who were well rounded and approached the game correctly, but didn't have enough athleticism, or for Landry, skill, plus his jumper left him. Which might have been injury related, no?

Anyway, I think Grimes will surprise and actually get some minutes, and yes, I'm aware who the coach is.

Guys like Baker and Landry have zero skills and no athleticism. Grimes is a pretty skilled scorer and has plenty of athleticism imo.

Idk what happened to Landry’s jumper tbh but he was fking horrible to watch in his sophomore year

Buzz was reaching there. None of those guys had the offensive ability Grimes displayed in SL. He already likely has the purest jumper on the whole roster and we’ll have to see if the rest of his skills allow him to utilize that smooth shot in the NBA. I’m betting he’ll make it and probably end up being another draft steal for us.

i feel like randle's finally hit that point in his career where he's mastered his fundamental strengths enough to quickly add a bunch of new moves to his bag. that's exciting to see since he'll have more space to operate this season

“He did exactly what we kind of asked him to do,’’ Jackson said. “Give us a break in the early part of the contract when we have some wiggle room — hopefully big enough wiggle room — next year when we can exploit it.’’

The deal was still far more than what any other team could have offered him, but it'll give New York a bit more flexibility next summer, which is also when the contracts of Andrea Bargnani and Amar'e Stoudemire will come off the books. That's when the Knicks badly want to make a splash in free agency.

It certainly looks like he’s working on moves to counter the staggered double team he faced all series long against the Hawks. Not sure if I’m a fan of the 20 footer after 5 head fakes, but I guess that’s the iso move he’s looking to improve. Seems like a better post up game would make more sense since the rest of the starting lineup is so jump shot reliant. Maybe that’s being done off camera.

Melo is who he will always be a volume shooter who was inefficient. Also a net negative on defense. When teams started to realize and that’s the reason why didn’t sign him.
You talking about a vet minimum player when he was still in his prime.
