There’s levels to this.

3rd to 8th seeds in the playoffs were separated by two wins. I always viewed the outcome in the West as boiling down to matchups and Lakers were an ideal matchup for the TWolves given zero interior defense of the former. Always felt only way Lakers were getting past Minny was if the refs helped. With the way JJ Reddick coached, Pistons could have actually taken out the Lakers if they played in a series.

As I said though, am happy seeing Ju ball out and I hope he finds a permanent home and be appreciated more than he was here. Ann at peace with this trade and I hope all of the others could feel the same.

Interior defense or not, they have two hall of fame talents on their team in Luka and Bron surrounding by great tertiary scorers in Reaves and Rui and a great 3 and D guy in DFS. I think you are massively undercrediting that Lakers squad. They beat OKC, Houston twice, Denver twice, Clippers twice, Knicks, etc. The Lakers actually have a record of 21-19 against teams with a winning record while the Pistons went 12-27 against teams with a winning record. The Lakers are in a completely different league than the Pistons, let's be real

KAT is a good person and have nothing against him personally, but some of us just feel like Randle was a better fit for us. Randle can create his own shot, playmake and he plays with a type of toughness that we don't really see from KAT. On top of that his defense is super suspect. Right now what we've seen in the playoffs is that Randle has been consistently good while KAT has just been up and down every other game. It's a bit frustrating. We are all still rooting for KAT, but it just looks like we should've stuck with Randle. I think he helped Brunson,Thibs and generated wide open looks for the team way more than KAT does for us. Maybe KAT is better suited as a third option and we need to get a real second option this summer.

Regular season a different animal than the playoffs. Lack of big men will get the Lakers stars gassed in a 7-game series playing the same team again and again especially with a shorter rotation. Playoffs are about matchups, so I don’t really see the sense of bringing up records against certain teams you are not facing. And of course, different intensity. This Pistons team and the way they play physical defense would have worn the Lakers out in submission unless refs bailed them out.

With the trade, I guess it is what it is. Our FO probably envisioned JB being to ascend to being a regular season MVP candidiate and the way they thought to do it was bringing in guys who could help him in that regard by spacing the floor and giving him more ball handling duties.

In retrospect, probably should have not gone that route but I still see a championship team in us. Just need a tweak in mindset from the players and coaches.

I'm not really sure the lack of big men hurt them though. Gobert was actually pretty unplayable against the Lakers for most of the series. He only had one good game.

Will have to agree to disagree about the Lakers and Pistons. I think the Lakers sweep them or beat them in 5 at the very least.

With the trade, I don't even think Leon wanted to do it. Stein said that guy Rosas pushed for the trade more than anyone in the office. So idk how I feel about that. If we were to trade Randle, I rather it be for a proven second option who can create and playmake or an MVP caliber type of player like Giannis. Don't think KAT was that guy.

If we are able to take out Boston and get to the ECF, I'll concede that the Knicks were right in moving Randle and this is an championship contending team. Here's to hoping we look much more competitive tommorow.

Other teams shoot freely

Thibs doesn’t allow it or complains so much that ppl are tight

Sheppard and Obi launching freely … not searching around for shots that aren’t there

Obi didn't become Reggie 2.0 until he no longer had Thibs as his coach.

This series has proved why the Jazz traded Mitchell. He has no shot outside 5 feet from the rim.
