Besart, if you have the knowledge you claim to have about schemes, making quality posts including that information would be nice and a change of pace.

Also, we're not getting players on paycuts on a promise that we will pay them more the following year. Not only has this happened before and the team got caught (Minny with Joe Smith), but it's just not happening in today's NBA.

People on here see one thing about Wade being in talks for more money and a new contract from Miami and now everyone is talking about the Knicks paying him crazy money to come here. It's absolutely crazy around here. Why the heck would anyone want a broken down Wade for 15-18 million a year?? It's crazy i say crazy.

ATL is an interesting trade partner. they have about 11 mil in cap space even with the Carroll and Millsap cap holds. If they want to open it further, they can look to dump Scott and Mack. Would they give up the 15th pick to do so? They traded their selection, the 15th pick, this year. They make a little under 6 mil combined according to Basketball Insiders.

If we could somehow pull this off, I think it gives us many options.

A. Keep the pick. Every year there are potential lottery picks that fall to the teens. This year it was Justuf. Let him grow with our lottery pick as part of a young core that learns from the vets we bring via FA but can still have some impact.

B. We wheel and deal with a team in the late lottery and offer the 15th pick and take on another bad contract to move higher. Not sure who that partner would be. Maybe Detroit with Jennings?

C. We use it as a bargaining chip in FA negotiations. As a thank you to a team who will do a sign a trade and get that FA a 5th year. Maybe they take less because they get that guarenteed 5th year. Maybe they only consider us if they can get the full 5 yr max.

Just an idea I'd like to explore. We finally have flexibility. Let's maximize it.

Jason Kidd was not useful and that is the outright greatest myth that has been perpetuated on this forum for years.


he was an awful defender, and awful shooter, and awful PG who couldnt even dribble the ball up the court vs Avery Bradley.

His impact was ridiculously overstated.

All I know is we went from the #2 out of the playoff in just one season with almost same roster!!

And as for his leadership, look at the Bucks this year... going from scrubs to a playoff team in just one season, too!!

Knicks need a guy like Koufos or RoLo at Center to play alongside Monroe who needs to play his natural position at Power Forward.

MONROE IS NOT A RIM PROTECTING CENTER.

Phish is most likely going to keep Melo at the 3 position. Melo injury and age isn't that serious and he will still be able to stay with most of these small forwards. All that rhetoric about him not being able to defend and keep up with these wings is hyperbole.

If we sign Wade it's absolutely essential that we offload Calderon and Timmy to make as much room as possible to sign a 3rd durable star like LMA or Gasol because this team as currently constructed isn't making the playoffs with wade only playing 50 or 60 games.

Jason Kidd has had terrible behavior off the court, but on the court he's the absolute floor general. That season he was the absolute glue guy for the Knicks, run the offense, fed Melo in the right positions and was an adequate defender. You couldn't be further from the truth, plus Avery Bradley is a great defender that can stiffle even elite athletes.

I've played a lot of FIFA football manager... formations and strategies are my passion... same for the bball... Sorry for the lack of modesty, but I have knowledge about the playcalls, strategies and playbooks more than Shammgod has posts in his life ... The bad thing is, in a forum where only 10 posters at best know what schemes are out there, it's useless to talk about more detailed talks and in depth analysis... Even in game threads, instead of analytics we see anal-tits most of the time ("lucky charms")

PS: I follow this forum just to read and learn new things from those max 10 high IQ guys... not from the haters and nor from the homeless depressive loners to whom forums and idle talks are their virtual drugs to get away from their miserable lives
