I'm currently trying to address the Thabo situation. Tried to get Affalo but got turned down which I totally understood, but just so you can see where this great mind of mine is at.

This Ron Ron stuff drive me crazy... Before Ron came to the Lakers (the last I believe prior years) he averaged 20 ppg. His role diminished for obvious reasons. Based on his 8 years of scoring when he had an OPPORTUNITY. I see no reason why he could do it again if given said opportunity...

he will 33 years old starting next year. Not many mid 30 years old wing players putting up huge scoring #'s other than the likes of Kobe Bryant and a couple others.

There is nothing wrong with Ron Ron game. He is very good at what he does. Be a mean SOB and play defense. I think its safe to say those 18-20 ppg days are over

Afflalo would be a very nice pickup, but im assuming he might be a little difficult to get.

Word on the street is Affalo is untouchable

I doubt Manu makes another all star game, but he will be labeled a all star .

Same goes for dlee they still to this day call him a allstar even though he just made 1 and that might be his only one ever seeing how the west has a load of good big men.

Nobody can take that away from them.

Manu for the most part still plays at an All-Star level. Obviously his age prevents him from playing the minutes to inflate his #'s that he makes an all-star game.

but the Manu is still one of "the" guys on a team. I would consider Ron Ron a role player at this point.

I doubt he can average 20 now, but maybe around 14-17 ppg.

Grind- that's what I meant... I was just pointing out that there was a reason his average dropped tremendously and it was because of decline of talent...

you sure about that....he has shot 40% from the field over the past 4 years. He is not the player in IND and SAC where he was consistently shooting 45%+ from the field. His FT% has dropped each of the last 4 years as well. He is declining and that is nothing against ron ron it happens with every player with age.

Very rarely does someone play at the same level as they did when they were in there mid 20's

son averaged 8 points a game on 39% shooting last year can we stop. Artest could put up 20 a game, but hed shoot 30% and the team would win 3 ggames.

It's funny how Ron was a scorer until he came to LA and all of a sudden he garbage offensively. The fact that some of you get locked into these notions drives me crazy... Everything is old too. :noway: Yet Kidd, Nash, Camby, etc are practically 40 and still playing against the best players in the world at high levels. Yet a 33 year old Artest is old

I think Artest will play solid this year w/ the Lakers for what they'll need from him.

WHY?

KOBE
GASOL
BYNUM

Thats why! and the point wasn't necessarily "20ppg" as Grind said 14-17... The point was ANYONE who knows Ron knows that you can't perform if you dont get the opportunity. IN ANY PROFESSION...
