I think Bell is a good comparison. Spot on.

Burks is so underrated, the avg fan has no idea who he is.

Don't know much about him but he's player 939 minutes and his numbers don't jump at me. What is so impressive?

He's very tough and has a knack for getting his shot off and putting the ball in the basket. Similar style of play as Brandon Roy.

Burks is an efficient slasher on offense who breaks down defenses with penetration. He does a great job getting to the rim, where he finishes well from either side of the basket and draws a ton of fouls (7.9 FTA/game in college) and converts his free throws (82.5% in college ). He’s creative and patient when he skies to the rim, able to contort his body and finish in traffic.

He picked it up at the end of last season, he's only gonna get better with age.

And we assume that based on what? 939 minutes of play ?

I don't think I need to tell you the stat sheet means little, you have to watch watch games. He came from barely playing to being a big part of that 6 game win streak to push the jazz to the to the playoffs and played well at the end of the season.

Google him.

I know very well that stats are part of the story. I was just trying to further my point. Many opinions are very selective. When we like a player we throw the "small sample size" argument right out the window. Yet, guys who've done it before and showed 8 years of consistency. Don't receive the same "poster optimism". I'll ck him out tomorrow though... I'm tired. It's been a long day...

Lol all I said was he was underrated, I didn't say he was gonna make 10 all star games and lead the jazz to a ring. It was a sample size your right, I look forward to what he can do this season.

Long story short (if you didn't see my previous post about Burks),

He's the reason I wasn't too high on Hayward, he got in games late last season and showed a willingness to defend and could score a lil bit and started pushing Hayward for minutes. Reminds me of a young Raja Bell.

This summer league here in Orlando he was ballin' and he said he was after the starting spot and imo he may very well earn it since Hayward started at SG last season.

Maybe Burks is the starting SG and Hayward is the starting SF but the point is it worried me enough to move Gordon for someone proven (Stack Jack).
