Lol, did that song come on after the song i posted? I have both songs in my youtube playlist because im putting together songs for when i get a new ipod. This way i dont have to write them down on paper as i think of them and it cant get lost. :x

I posted the song after you. That link is his music video release after he got signed. It doesn't look as hard as his original Youtube when he just went into the booth and just vented this out.

Just a really odd coincedence then. Because that don trip song is the next song that comes on in my playlist on youtube after "4 seasons" which is the song i just posted.

All of these new ninjas are wack! Lupe, Walle, J.Cole. I just don't see the appeal with these cats.(That Don Trip stuff was tight though).

I wish I could go back in time and see real hip hop artists again.

Regarding Jon Conner he is solid, but just doesn't appeal to a lot of people for whatever reason. Sort of reminds me of Jon Hope but the newer version. I was really pulling for Hope it just never went anywhere, dude got some nice songs.

Lupe should not be associated with those two. Lasers was mainstream BS but his first two albums were classics. Cole is nice but overrated. Wale is just garbage.

Who cares if it was mainstream? It was still good. Also, Wale isn't garbage -- his CDs are garbage, but his mixtapes are great (FWIW, I thought his first CD wasn't terrible).

Some people are good with mainstream, some are not. Although a lot of mainstream is bad, if you listen to most of Hot97.

There's no doubt about that, but I think some people don't listen to mainstream music just because it's mainstream. To me, music is music...if it's good, I'll listen to it regardless of type.

Friend of the People is decent. Not sure how much I like the whole techno-y feel for majority of the mixtape, but it's interesting and I really like Lightwork. L.A.S.E.R.S. was awful by the way. I just listened to it the other day again for the first time in a couple months and could only tolerate a few songs.

I like it. Techno rap is different lol. Lyrics still good as far as I can tell (only one listen through so far). I've been listening to Lightwork since he released it a few weeks ago...love that song. SLR is also pretty old...he released a while back. Really like that song.

:dontknow: I thought LASERS was good.

Yeah I heard Lightwork when he released it a few weeks ago. Joaquin Phoenix is another song that's been out for a while.

I forgot to mention, Like It or Love is pretty good too. The three of them each have solid verses and of course I'll enjoy just about anything J. Cole puts out.

Wasn't Joaquin Phoenix on Travis Barker's album? I think that's where I herd it first too...not sure though.

I hope that song gets radio play...maybe with the British making good rap they'll get some hits here. A few of them are VERY VERY good lyricists.

QuESt (John Q) was getting some publicity from Lupe...he retweeted one of the songs Q came out with a few days ago and did it again with his newest release, "The Walk." Pretty cool that one of the best lyricists in the game is giving props to an unheralded rapper.

You had started listening to Quest when I was posting him right? IMO still hasn't done anything as good as Broken Headphones.

So now Shawn Jay [Field Mob] is dissing Ludacris? Man I need me a legitimate beef because it's been quite some time since we seen some good bars get exchanged. I miss my subliminal's in tracks.
