No he said "Yeah. I made it up. SMH" -- he was saying sarcastically, 'Of course I didn't make up the quote.'

He was willing to back up Lin because he knew Lin was a franchise talent and the pg of the future here. Now, if Lin leaves, where is Kidd's mindset? Does he want to back up Felton whom he may feel superior to since Felton really has no backing by the legion of Knicks fans and Lin fans? If Lin goes, I have no problem with Kidd starting and Felton coming off the bench but I definitely wonder about what Kidd has to say about this since he was just recently quoted as looking forward to personally shaping Lin's development.

Kidd came here because there were two teams willing to pay him and he thought we gave him the best chance to win. This mentoring Lin stuff is all find and dandy but its media driven. I am sure Kidd would have been happy to work with Lin but thats not why he is here.

I agree with you on that, but do you think he'd be happy backing up Felton? I guess we'll see.

So what you want him to do is to stop...think this through...make himself believe that he's not worth his contract...then figure out that Lin would be loved by a lot of fans...and that they he should say something else other than that contract is a poison bill contract? once again...they call it a "poison pill" for a reason. Did anyone (other than TKF) refer to Carmelo's contract as a "poison pill"?

Stop overreacting and overreading things. Jeeezus the panic that's setting in is just nuts.

LeBron took less because there's no state tax in FLA. Read the damn quote about Lin before talking about Melo's comment being hypocritical...

After taxes, Melo is still making more than Lebron, which is just wrong, considering he's not half the player Lebron is.

Meaningless because 15 teams would have lined up to give Melo a max deal. He is making his market value. LeBron chose to make less so the Big 3 could happen.

And this is where the lunacy on this board becomes laughable. Now you see if THIS was posted instead:

Speaking at Olympic practice, Carmelo Anthony stated that he wants Jeremy Lin back but admitted that Houston throwing in a third year really made things challenging for the Knicks financially.

The Knicks likely won't be swayed by Anthony's opinion but it's worth noting. The dynamic All-Star understood that the front office makes the big decisions and he'll have to roll with the punches.

...then half of the board wouldn't be losing their fu*king minds but noooooooooo everybody has to overreact & post like mindless drones. Aw man I see a lot of sig worthy posts in this thread to remember at the end of next season.

I'll feel a little sympathy for Dolan having to pay him $15m in 3 years, but otherwise who cares? It won't affect our ability to get more players.

I swear a lot of you guys on this board need to step away from your computers and go get some vagina bc it appears a lot of u have no lives. Bitching over a fake quote from Melo and crying over a player that clearly doesn't want to play here.

Again, Melo should shut his mouth but stop overanalyzing what he said. He didn't really say anything impactful.

Bingo.

The FLA no state tax definitely helped LeBron make that choice, though.

You got to figure that Melo has a pretty good idea of what's going down. He and Dolan are close. He is their best player.

Moreover, he is close to Spears and could well be the source of Spears's "highly doubtful" statement.

This is looking very bad.

Just unreal.

...People are upset about this quote? I think I might have to take the day off from this board...that's stupidity.

No, he called the Houston offer sheet "that ridiculous contract."

I mean, I know Melo probably said it with a smile and it was more like "ridiculously good" than "bad" -- but it's really a poor choice of words.

But that's just it...maybe he meant it sarcastically. Maybe he's just reading the script that I would not be surprised that Dolan has already sent out a memo telling everyone to basically STFU and remember who pays your bills (he's done that before plenty of times). Who knows. But nothing proves that he's the blame for this, that he wants this, that he's the reason behind this, that he's the Anti-Christ...and so on and so forth...which is where the mob frenzy mentality is taking this.

The "ridiculous contract" quote was a paraphrase of the above quote...I went all the back through pages of nonsense just to find the origin of it. I haven't seen anyone reference the "ridiculous contract" quote on twitter and you KNOW that writers would be all over that like flies to ****...but the quote doesn't seem to exist outside of this board. The top quote, which is harmless and includes an endorsement of Lin...is the quote.

Exactly. Melo ran Lin out of NY. (And I'm not being snarky.) I betcha Melo complained about playing with Lin, just like he complained about playing for D'Antoni. He's a byatch this f-ing Melo.

dude Lin ran himself out of New York. If he really wanted to be in New York he would be in New York...rather he went and signed for even more money to F*ck over the knicks to a team that cut his azz.

f*ck that noise...Lin has showed nothing that he wants to return to NY. I am not a Felton fan what so ever but I refuse to root for a prima dona that cashed in on 20 games. We are the team that gave this kid a shot!

Obviously we wanted to leave NY. The question is why.

After taxes Melo is definitely not making more than Lebron, but thanks for making **** up. Melo is paying at least 10% in state income taxes, Lebron pays 0.

And the difference between Melo and Lebron is much smaller than the difference between Lin and Kyrie Irving who Lin will be out-earning by 200% in 2014-15.

Lol.

- Lin is screwing the Knicks over by leaking infos to the Rockets FO, secretly working on a bigger contract and forcing his way out of NY.

- It still isnt´t clear if the Knicks will match or not.

- Melo saying he wants Lin back, but it isn´t his business. Then calls the contract ridiculous which he is.

Knicks board:

F*** Melo

F*** Woodson

F*** Dolan

F*** Grunwald

F***Isaiah

Hail Lin.

Pathetic. Just pathetic.
