Sometimes I am amazed at what the New York media can accomplish with their clout.

The contract Houston offered him is completely undeserved for his "talent", he should be insulted for the fact that teams are looking to cash in on his apparent popularity and failing to evaluate him properly as basketball player.

Despite what he 'accomplished' in 25 games stat wise, if you look at his tape the only conclusion you can come up with is that his skill level is of someone who is the 8th-12th man on a roster. To give him such a contract is terrible for him as its gonna put pressure on him to perform in a way that he has no capabilities of doing.

Teams are gonna be gunning for him and his gonna start to question his self image when he is repeatedly voted on the All-Star team based on his popularity(ala Ming) yet his peers (other NBA players/personnel) are never gonna see him in such a manner.

I would compare him to Tim Tebow in some regard and he just got traded by the Broncos. The difference is that Tebow has a strong personality and is very sure of himself.

A+ to his representation though, they are gonna be making tons of money for some time now.

1) Youve never seen Lin play.

For Melo's sake and for Lin's sake, I actually think it's better to let Lin go. Not that they can't play together. But the demage is already done. The media would focus on their every move on and off the court. It would super uneasy for Lin enter this locker room to face these teammates again. And i don't think Lin would ever live up to that contract in this enviornment. Not to mention the presence of Felton. That guy would cancerous if he's buried on the bench. Let the FO be the villain and free everyone else.

Let's not act like this is Basketball Wives and they have to snipe each other behind their backs for the whole season or something. These dudes are grown men & will handle business like grown men. If anything they'll come to an agreement just so they can help further the team's success instead of focusing on petty things like we do on a message board.

I would worry more about JR and Lin than Melo and Lin. Although if Lin does become the star that everyone sees potential in then they would kick JR's dumbass out ASAP for Lin.

How could 3 starting caliber point guards fit into 48 minutes? I wouldn't want to be Woodson in this scenario. Can he justify to bench Lin with a 8m per price tag? Or bench a HOFer like Kidd? You think Felton wouldn't complain with lack of PT? No matter what they might say, it's no good and unfair for all parties.

If JR really has a big problem with Lin, you will see JR on the waviers.

KIDD can not play any major minutes anymore he is more suited to back up at 2 these days and can not play major minutes. Has anyone even see JK last year with Marv? he is terrible.
What's sad to me is that we could have had them BOTH. Harvard learning from one of the GOAT.

Now we have Fat learning from Drunk.

I'm not usually superstitious but taking Lin's jersey off the Knicks online store does seem pretty ominous...

Neither is Wilson Chandler, yet there is a Chandler T-Shirt for $15.

You think they tell the decision to the web designers?

It says Wilson Chandler right there on the page. The shirt number is 21 as well. Tyson wears 6.
