Isn't it weird that older people just don't get new technology for the most part? For instance my dad is almost 60 but he still types at a 5th grade level. Still constantly has to ask me how to work iTunes, download movies, how to use facebook, etc. It's almost like if you haven't learned something by 40 years old, your done. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. I really hope I never get like that.

Ok nice rant. GO KNICKS. Have to get it done tonight. If they lose somehow...I'm going to be ****ing my pants.

I think Melo truly wants to distribute more, and he's a good passer when he looks to do it.

When he makes these statements about passing, I think his intentions are very good and straightforward.

But once the game gets going, I don't think it's really in his DNA to pass up shots. He knows he can make tough shots -- he's a classic "bad shot shooter" -- and I think in the moment, he just wants to get the score and put points on the board for his team.

He'll put up at least 22 shots tonight.

I think we all wish he was more of a passer and a patient player who integrates himself into a system. On the other hand, I think he puts tremendous pressure on the D because he's always in attack mode.

Melo is definitely the kind of player who strikes fear in the other team's heart. Doesn't matter if he's 10-35 or 12-19. The guy is a killer and teams know it.

You're right. It may be 25+. I don't mind it either. He's the king of volume shooters. That's okay. He should stay in attack mode tonight. If/when we reach Miami, then we need to revise the offense. Melo needs to blend more against them or we won't stand a good chance.

Main thing is our guys should drive the ball tonight. When you're home in a closeout game, bombing 3's kind of lets the other team off the hook.

Use the energy of the crowd to get into the lane and try to get Boston to collapse by driving the ball down their throats.

Predictions:

JR has an off game 7-16 or 7-18 finishes with 18
Melo drops 35+ on solid shooting
Kidd finally hits some 3s
K-Mart has a huge game (near double double)

Knicks win 98-90
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

it really is not about passing/shooting it is about how you choose to pass/shoot. Melo needs to be able to say "so and so has not gotten a touch, they need to touch the ball" when it is opportune.

It is a quick thinking issue: He has to assess his own scoring opportunity (open lane/high %shot), assess open teammates. assess their opportunities (lay up, space etc), and make a decision to pass/shoot. Easy for us fans backseat driving, but if you have a mindset that shooting over paul pierce is an 80% or probable bucket, you are taking that shot.

The slow progression of Tyson through this series as he comes back from injury is encouraging, hopefully he continues that tonight. I predict he gets double digit points tonight (for the first time this series, I think). I really hope we got for the pick and roll more often, Boston shouldn't be able to cover Tyson- which will open up the game for Melo and the shooters. Not just the Ray- Tyson P&R though, I want Prigioni and Melo to run it too. They'll probably double Melo off of it, so that should be an easy way to score if executed correctly.

I really hope Woodson makes it clear to JR that we don't need him to try to do too much. I love JR, but I hope he doesn't see the suspension as "motivation" because we're perfectly fine with him as he was before. I'd hate to see him force the issue, of course it work out tremendously because he CAN get hot... it's just, he could also take and miss some bad shots. I think something that isn't mentioned enough is how we missed his ability to defend Boston's taller wings and keep the PGs on their SGs disguised as PGs.
