Trade Chandler / Shump for Perkins / Thabo the OKC 1st rd pick and the Dallas pick they own. Prob both in the mid 20's. But we are not winning ish and it's time to reload our "assets" to go get the game changer we desperately need moving forward.

Boston wants 2 1st rd picks - here you go. If they balk, someone will gladly take two picks in this draft.

- Send JR Smith to the Thunder for that trade exception & a 1st and have it sent to the Celtics

- Group Tyson Chandler & Jeff Green together, sending them to PHX for OK4, Frye & a 1st. OK4 coming to the Knicks.
That's already 2 1sts going to the Boston Celtics, plus Frye who expires by 2015

- Swap Bargnani with Gerald Wallace, since Bargs expires by 2015

- Then just add our 2018 1st, Iman Shumpert & Beno Udrih to the deal for the Celtics

- Keith Bogans has a team option for his 3rd year, so he's basically off the books by 2015 as well. No need for the Celtics to deal him instead of Jeff Green

- Celtics also saves $10 mil of the bat from this deal then Humphries expiring is another $12 mil at seasons end.

- As for the Thunder, JR Smith seems like the exact player they are searching for. They still remember that shot last season he hit on them in the clutch off the botch Felton pass. They give up nothing of value other than a 1st.

It'll look like this for posters not wanting to read all this mess;

CELTICS GET - Iman Shumpert, Andrea Bargnani, Channing Frye, Beno Udrih, trade exception from Thunder for JR Smith & 3 1st round picks

KNICKS GET - Rajon Rondo, Emeka Okafor & Gerald Wallace

SUNS GET - Tyson Chandler & Jeff Green

THUNDER GET - JR Smith

The only negative here is that we still have Raymond Felton on the books, but I guess he isn't a bad backup. We could just have the Pablo & Felton duo off the bench & start Timmy with Rondo.
OK4 should be able to do the same stuff Tyson Chandler was doing for us this season.

Interesting scenario is if we get Melo to tell Amar'e to opt out & promise Amar'e another deal for longer years but less money or something.
Ok4 expires, Melo & Amar'e opts out & then we'd only have Rondo, Wallace, Felton, Tyler & Timmy on the books.

Heat doesn't win the championship this year?
Melo would take less?
Lebron anyone?

Modification:

CELTICS GET - Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton, Emeka Okafor, Channing Frye, Beno Udrih, trade exception from Thunder for JR Smith & 3 1st round picks (2 1sts from both SUNS & 1 from the THUNDER)

KNICKS GET - Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace & Hasheem Thabeet

SUNS GET - Tyson Chandler & Jeff Green

THUNDER GET - JR Smith

Use our 2018 1st to get rid of Bargs & his expiring in the offseason.

I like the 1st proposal more for instant savings, but this adds more savings to our 2015 cap with Felton off the books.
Maybe Bargs could help us in the playoffs with Rondo in the fold.

Tyson, Shump, 2015 pick swap (if out of the lottery) for Ellis, Dalembert, Blair

Metta, Felton, 2018 top-3 protected 1st, Wizards second (gotten for Beno), Murry for Lowry

Do the Mavs or Raps entertain these?

since knicks are searching for any point guard out there. why not vasquez from toronto? kid has shown in new orleans, that he can be one of the best setup man in the league (9 assists in 78 games!) and he could be avaiable on the cheap.

toronto gets cole aldrich and beno udrih

knicks get greivis vasquez

raptors get a veteran point guard to backup lowry to make their playoff push and also get a young big man in aldrich

knicks trade two players who dont see much playing time as it is and vasquez has potential to be atleast on par with felton if not much better. if raps are not willing to do this trade maybe throw in a 2nd rounder.

when the celtics say they want unprotected picks, I'm pretty sure they mean from a **** team. i don't think protected picks or picks from teams like okc is going to make them bite.

in order for the knicks to get rondo, they're going to have to get a little more creative than simply harvesting the future.

they're going to have to gamble a little bit.

I'll pass. That team may be better but it ain't doing a thing even in the East. And with Gordon and Green's contracts they basically cement that "in between" status for the next 3 years. This is an Isiah Thomas type deal...sure you kinda get the best talent but fit...who cares...long term plan...what's that. This doesn't trump the 2015 plan.

Would love to see the Knicks get Deng. He's a good fit but not sure how much he would want to re-sign him.

Have we completely counted out Dragic ITT? Don't feel like going back through all the pages, but how do we feel about a trade centered around Tyson for Dragic?
And just like that, the lead has been cut to 8!

wait why would OKC give a first to take on the horrible contract that is JR Spliff? Only part of this trade thats realistic is PHX gets chandler while NYK gets Okafor+2 of the crappy suns first(PHX/IND)

yeah. I'd say 90% of the board would be all for it, which means, it's not happening.

I'm so disappointed that this isn't even being discussed. I've said it thousand times, but it's crazy enough to work.

Image

with the rights to the knicks picks in 2014, 2016 (the better of the pick, the lesser was going to the raps) coming back. denver gets out of all of that salary.

those picks get you rondo( or kyrie) with garbage (wallace) this summer for stat's expiring.

if you win the lottery you keep that pick. if you can get your hands on one of the pg's in the draft, you keep the pick. if you don't like a guy like marcus smart, you could probably trade him with stat for rondo and wallace, and you wouldn't have to trade the other pick. a pick in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Nets just made a move to get Thorton. Love what Mills is doing to turn this season around. There are options out there.

THe best part is that in 2015 they think Love or Rondo will come here w/o Melo being here. NO ONE WILL COME HERE AFTER THEY SEE HOW BAD THIS ORGANIZATION IS AT BUILDING A CONTENDER

Cavs have put Deng back out there. Waiters just went down with what looks like a knee injury. They wanted Shump before. Bargs / SHump for Deng so they get something instead of losing Deng for nothing? IDK

At the very least need to take on Jack's salary from them as well I'd think. I'm also pretty sure Deng can't be traded along with another player so it'd be two separate deals looking something like this:

Barg for Deng
and
Shumpert, MWP, Kenyon, Cole, Udrih any other minimum **** we have left for Jack
