Kuz said that KP asked our NT coach to play him at the 5 so Kuz wouldn't destroy him at the 4.
That's the nature of this game.
Our guys also have been talking smack to Lithuanians. So it should be very competitive. The LAT-LIT games have always been competitive, even back when they were not as close.
Do you realize how many Americans are excited about a basketball game between two countries so small that most Americans didn't know even the first thing about them before we drafted KP? Seriously, I learned about them because I studied the Soviet Union a bit, and realized how important it was the former "satellite" nations regained their freedoms. But most of us had no idea.
Now, there's lots of folks who are excited and thinking "these two countries are cool." I really think so - there's a lot to like about the culture of 2 nations who recently regained their freedom and have done so well. So this game is a really happy event, not only because we get to see great basketball and 2 of our players, but for all those other reasons.
Also, I finally get to hear some of the players' names being pronounced by a native speaker, the way they should be. (Names almost always sound better when pronounced by a native speaker of the language than the way we try to say them.)
