For those w/o league pass who didn't see it

I know there are places that will replace next day through a website, but not all games get up on those places next day

A bit worried. We could really use the #1 pick this year and get an all start SG next to Frank. Isn't looking like that right now. Maybe we can still finish in the top 5 lotto and get lucky with ping pong balls.

Who's that guy in this draft? Knox?

hop on the bandwagon NOW! been hypin him up since february. FEBRUARY!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

He may end up great but what I saw in the clip you posted was a tall athlete who could handle. He was playing against short D3 talent, didn't shoot well and seems to have a slow release. Decent passer and should have been dominant on the boards but wasn't. A standout athletically but not much else stood out to me at this time.

Knicks have been a pretty boring team to watch those first 3 games. Players were already going through the motions. KP has been the only one worth tuning in for. In a way Timmy as well since I wanted to see if he would be worth the investment, but he continues to be pretty much terrible. 4 games, 4 duds.

I didnt have many expectations with Frank since he was the only prospect I didnt know much about. Wasnt really able to go in depth into his scouting reports/videos on the internet. I definitely didnt hate the pick, thought it was the safe pick. I was always defending the pick with my co-workers. They all kept saying how the Knicks were fools for passing up on Dennis Smith Jr, but there are people on this board who I very much value their opinion, so i entrusted in Frank being able to prove the doubters wrong and told them the kid will turn out to be just fine.

I know how that is. WOrking nights suck when you cant watch the game live.

The kids showed out tonight, KP was a franchise player on both ends while Frank came in and was an impact player on both ends. Willy got out there for a bit and did some good things as well. It's a season all about the kids, tonight shows you why that is.

KP: The unicorn was in full effect tonight. He was not about to accept athletic guys giving up 6 inches or more shutting him down. There were spurts where he forced things or settled for jumpers but he made up for them with some sheer brilliance. 30 pts, 9 boards, 3 blocks on 13 of 24 from the field and that was while the three ball failed him. But what made this a unicorn performance was KP's defense, his rotations were sharp and his man to man defense was effective. Dude changed a lot of shots in the paint and that two way potential could be what sets him apart from his fellow young promising bigs.

Jarrett Jack: Perhaps Ramon Sessions' futility might have made this performance a bit sweeter but Jack looked entirely serviceable. 8 pts, 5 asts, 7 boards...dude just found ways to make positive contributions. It wasn't perfect, the start was particularly stagnant for the offense but overall he was solid.

THJ: On a night where virtually everyone showed positive, Timmy was kind of a dud. He forced shots early, just awful selection but then he got some good looks as time went on with just as many bricks. He's gotta break the cold streak. 11 pts, 3 boards, 2 asts and at least he gave a bit of production in other areas rather than absolutely nothing. He seems like he's beating himself up out there and in postgames, dude just has to focus on positive impacts regardless of his shooting.

Lee: 13 pts, 3 boards, 1 ast and 3 for 6 from the three point line. On a lot of nights, there isn't too much to say about this guy because you know what expect. He's a solid, reliable presence.

Kanter: Started really badly, with some forces and getting beat down the floor. Hornacek gets respect for benching this guy off that really ugly start. The move lit a fire under him and his second half play was pretty damned inspired. 6/8 12 pts, 6 boards and 2 blocks mostly compiled in the third quarter. Probably his worst play in the first followed by his best in the third.

Frank: It felt like the momentum shifted our way more and more the longer he stayed out there. 9 pts, 5 asts, 2 boards with 3 TO's. His game is silky smooth, he sees the whole floor. Dude is QB like scanning the floor as if he's going through the progressions. He did take some time to find his jumper and make some bad TO's but that's rookie life. The real shining bit from his game is defense. He gets over screens, knows when to rotate and challenges shooters by going straight up with that massive reach. Those deflections he seemed to keep getting, that was a staple of virtually every game I've watched dude too from France to now. Just think, he's the same age as some kids waiting to start their Freshman seasons.

KOQ: I felt he started the game a bit low energy on defense. Offensively he was open inside twice and the wings just missed him. But then Frank got in and this dude started to pick it up. He got more touches and made some perfect passes, got more active on D and his rebounding was unstoppable. 4 pts, 12 boards, 3 asts. So far he's played really well.

McDermott: The three ball started to fall for him (new PG's, new shooter). 4 for 6 from the field for 12 points and added 5 boards. I thought the spacing was at it's best in the second quarter when Doug and THJ paired with KOQ receiving the ball near the top of the key to look for cutters. He's growing on me.

Willy: 4 pts, 4 boards in 13 minutes plus 2 steals overall a much better defensive performance than we've seen lately. He passes the ball nicely and has always had really great instincts. I was a bit surprised that Zeller kinda bodied him a few times though. He needs to get developmental time but it's gonna be hard if Kanter and KOQ play how they closed this game out.

Lance: Got 6 minutes out there and played some defense. He had Frank pass him the ball instead of take a TO when dribbling out the clock. Dude is way more likeable when he's not playing enough minutes to drive you crazy.

Dotson: In six minutes he moved off the ball well and got some good looks but couldn't knock them down. His effort on defense is visible and he gets around the ball on boards every time out. Can't say too much in the short time.

Horny: Something had to change and Jeff made changes. He started a new PG, put one of the rotation players in a suit and benched a productive Center for lazy play. All of that seemed to spark the team along with the presence of a distributor like Frank. He put the clean up crew in to get them minutes at a good time and he found almost fifteen minutes for Willy which is good to see. The fact he was willing to ride the rookie's momentum when the kid was producing gives me a sigh of relief. The Nets came in as the highest scoring team in the league and the Knicks locked them up well...He had a good game, no jokes tn.

Just want to add one-2 things...THJR did throw up a dud again on offense, but his effort on the defensive end was much better tonight then any other game he has played this year. I like what i saw on defense in certain stretches from Timmy.

I loved the Benching of Kanter by Horny. He was Lazy on that 1 play and Horny pulled him quick for Oquinn. Oquinn came in with energy and dominated the glass and played really good defense. Kanter came back in like a completely different person...he was playing really good defense and made some nice rotations and even had a few blocks. Then dominated the glass and was unstoppable scoring when we was posting up.

I love Oquinn, probably one of his biggest fans here. Really hope we find a way to keep him in the long run, but its probably doubtful. He is probably our best overall/complete Center on the team.

Working nights suck? I hear that. :(

Anyways, I was STUNNED. SHOCK-TOBER'D. I saw Frank Ntilikina actually played some minutes. And y'know what, for a 19 year old kid playing real minutes at the pro level in the NBA...he moved around like he belonged on that level. As expected, he's going to need to work on his game but he looked mature beyond his years out there.

The Knicks are ONE piece away from cementing their trifeca. By the time, KP hits his prime...Frank Nicotine is 21...and hopefully Doncic hits the league...there will be some cap space to fill in some complimentary vets with a REAL coach.

For now, enjoy the maturation and development.

Taking baby steps with Ntilikina seems to be the right decision. The front office and coaching staff deserve more credit than we give them.

What's more, we're on a path to having a fun and modern team to watch. We might finally not be behind the curve. If they can get another draft pick by trading vets we could have a fresh starting lineup next year.

Yeah THJ made a real effort to do other things, especially in the second half. I think the Sessions and Baker benchings combined with the Kanter early bench move lit a fire under everybody. THJ shot smarter in the second half and in the second quarter he and McDermott held their own on defense despite their reputations. Kanter's second half was his best playing as a Knick all things combined, definitely his best defense. Locked in KOQ is the best compliment to everybody else. He's got a bit more range, great passing for his size and he's got more mobility defensively as long as he's motivated. His next contract should be pretty damned big though, which makes him the easiest player to move on from. Especially since he's older than the others.

Kanter could be an All-Star in this league, if he could finally give some effort on defense.

He has been though. Every game as a Knick he has been playing with effort. He had 1 Lazy play last night which led to him being pulled, then game back and played like a beast.

Are We Ther Yet wrote:Wow...other than one clown...this is the most positive thread I have seen in a long time...if not ever!

I can't say enough how excited I am for the future. We waited MONTHS to see this kid play. All of the hype/hope/hate has been answered to some extent. He looks like a solid pick with high upside. No one can look at this game and think anything else. No normal person at least.

Jeff has been reading this forum. He did everything we have been talking about. He coached a very good game tonight. He played all of the kids except Baker(ankle injury).

I don't know where they learned defense all of a sudden but, that was a solid team effort. Frank had a lot to do with that. I am stunned at the effort they played with tonight. Jeff holding Kanter accountable sent a message too. Nice job.

KP looks ready to be the man. Really having a great season so far. Can't say I'm pleased enough at this. I had some reservations about him being able to be the man. He is proving to be a solid stud.

FMFNB! PMFJB! Frank/Baker/Dotson/KP/Billy are all Phil Jacksons doing. He traded Timmy away so...that needs mentioning too. Keeping all our 1sts. Driving Melo out. This rebuild is all his doing. He was bad at almost every aspect of his job. I am glad he is gone. I have to give him credit as the best FO to date since Dolan has been involved. Best drafts in decades. Best handling of our picks. Left the team in the best shape since the Ewing draft.

The process is just beginning. We appear to have a solid foundation to build on moving forward. Jeff has to prove he's worth keeping. The development of these kids is all he should be focused on this year. After thosr first 3 horrible games, this was a good sign moving forward. Hope to keep improving.

At least you're admitting how bad he was at his job otherwise. The narrative some are spinning that this was his plan is beyond ludicrous.

He nailed the picks after he failed at what he was trying to do. Credit where credit is due because we've had FOs who couldn't do that.

Koq really doesn't get the level of love he should. The kid is still young, a great passer, per min a outstanding shot blocker, solid defender and capable scorer. Why wouldn't we play him as the backup center? He deserves it.

Sure Willy is potentially a solid piece going forward but he's also still developing.

I have no issues with koq getting mins.

Or kanter. He works so hard. He's an ideal 6th man. Truly. But for this team now he's a great front court mate with Kp.

Kp looks the stud for sure. Shot selection is improving dramatically but still has a way to go. Love this kid.

Thjr continues to be my least favorite knick in years. No iq, terrible shot selection, terrible fundamentals. He just shoots and uses athleticism to hide his weekneswes. I wish we could move him.

Frank looked more confortable as the mins went on especially on offense. But on d and passing he looked natural the whole time. It's gonna take him a min to adjust to the athleticism and length of NBA defenders and he's gonna have to reign in some of those passes or penetrations in traffic but he's got the right instincts. He takes good shots in the flow of the game and he's always looking for the pass. He moves that ball!
This kid needs some uptempo players too.
I wish we had derrick Williams back to run with him.

Poor Noah has no place here. We need to work a buyout with him

I would love to see frank start attacking the basket once he begins to get more comfortable in this offense
