Why are people so quick to give up on kids when you know they take time to develop. I can understand if they were 25 and above, but these kids aren't even old enough to drink yet. Frank, Knox, and DSJ can be special , It's funny to me that guys are so high on Dot and Trier, but they couldn't even make it to the draft their freshman year in College. They are 21 and up, of course they're showing that they can play now.

Knox looks good, he just needs to work on being consistent, get stronger, work on footwork for defense. He has yet to grow into his body at 19 so he needs time.

Frank has shown great defensive skill at three positions and people want to give him up for a 26th pick where we would start all over again with guys saying Oh the new guy can't play D, or he sucks on offense, or he can't rebound....... We need to stop the merry-go-round and take the time to develop or youth, stop putting such high expectations while they're in the first contract.

let me be clear, i don't hate dsj ... i just hate this overrating that he's this other type of player when he's shown zero signs of being an above average, let alone average starter.

dsj isn't why you don't sign kyrie or kemba.

I wish I could give you 100 And 1's. I'm probably one of Frank's biggest supporters on this forum and truly believe we'll be making a huge mistake trading him for a late first rounder. Why exactly should we be selling low on any of our young lottery picks? It's not like these guys have been in the league for 4 or 5 seasons.

I'd like to keep all our kids here. I think DSJ has a chance to be a very good player in this league. He has to improve his jumper and especially his FT shooting which looked more of a mental issue than anything else. His man defense needs work but he plays the passing lanes very well, is a freak athlete and can get to the paint anytime he wants.

I think him and Frank would work so well together, especially if just one of them becomes a pretty good perimeter shooter. I see no reason to sell so low on any of them. Frank's value is going to show up big time next season, regardless of who we accrue this summer. Both of those kids just need the coaching staff's support. Why it was given to an expiring in Mudiay still baffles me til this day.

Been saying this for a while. Compare his stats to Kemba, Baron Davis, Westbrook, etc. They all had similar stats to DSJ. Kid is gonna be good. Just give him time. I don’t get why people wanna give up on him so early.

This!!! people are way too quick to write off DSJ.

When the Knicks first traded for DSJ, i pulled up stats of Russell Westrbrook, Kemba Walker, and D'Angelo Russell and all were statistically similar their rookie seasons. When it comes to the first 2 seasons, DSJ is comparable most to Kemba and D'Lo (Westbrook was a better playmaker early on)

Comparing young unproven players to stars is exactly how you set yourself up for disappointment.

If Fiz can get so many guys to play well under him why can’t DSJ? I expect him to come out crazy season 3. Free agents or not.

You’re just making stuff up. You obviously don’t like the kid even if you stated otherwise.

I thought most of us were operating under the scenario where we wouldve already signed Kyrie or Kemba. The argument now, or at least for me is why not have a solid backup who can be groomed into an above average PG by the time those starting PGs fade or get hurt.
But for some reason proponents of trading him feel you shouldnt have talented, albeit raw backups. That's just too scary. Gotta trade him cuz of some perception that he'll be unhappy. HES ON A ROOKIE DEAL. He has no power, especially with Kyrie here. He'll hold that clipboard, study and like it. Fill in when Kyrie goes on his annual injury breaks.

Sometimes if you wanna build a culture you gotta embrace some conflict. Trading everybody because they might possibly end up unhappy is passive aggresive. He'll be better player and get to win and we'll be a deeper and better team with Kyrie/Kemba and a player of Dennis' talent and potential behind him. Not so different from Bostons PG rotation right now.
