Melo spitting facts. If Phil wanted to run the triangle so bad he should’ve coached the team himself. Running the triangle for 48 minutes just doesn’t work in today’s nba. And we didn’t have players who play right in that system either.

And hopefully this shuts down the trash idea that Melo didn’t buy into the triangle. Cause it clearly sounds like he did and tried everything he can to make it work. Not a team player though :lol:

Apparently a lot of people are. According to wiretap, rating for game 1 were like 5.5 million compared to 13.3 for last year's finals. Yikes.

Phil won his last championship right before the 3-point and small ball revolution. Retired just at the right time as a coach.

Like the cassette player, the Triangle worked very well during its time, and then its time wasn’t anymore. Deep down, Phil probably knew it, hence he never decided to coach the Knicks.

I actually think Simmons would fit well with KAT/Russell/Beasley. Those are 3 really good shooters. SImmons is a really good defender and distributor. Kinda let KAT and Russell do there things scoring wise and Simmons kinda that jack of all trades.
