I’m going to catch heat for this but **** it.....

Obi was a bad pick!!!!!!!!

The Obi pick has nothing to do with the fact that we just wasn’t aggressive enough to trade up for LaMelo.
I assume we will rectify that this draft and trade up by any means for Cade or Suggs

The thing about Lamelo, is that no one was high on him so the cost of trading up was pretty low. Cade and Suggs are about as sure thing you can get. No one us trading them unless they are getting a King's ransom

I don't think it's really too early to say he's a bad pick when you take into account we seem to be invested in Randle who plays the same position, drafting him also meant we passed on making a play for Wood, and it looks like there are younger players that would fit right into our current lineup that may be better (Deni & Hali).

With how badly we needed a wing or a guard passing on those players was just stupid, and it's going to look even worse when Obi is coming off the bench for the foreseeable future.

agreed. unless they trade Randle, Obi will be a bench player. dude's almost 23, and there are players like Avdija and Hali who are younger and already looking great and would have fit better

Another of our misses Mikal Bridges put up 34 tonight.

The board seemed in unison on that one going in. Maybe he wasn’t everybody’s top choice at 9, but nobody I believe had a problem if he ended up being the pick

Rare case

Mavs tank looking dead. Kind of getting conflicted. On one hand I want to win and make the playoffs, on the other I feel like this is fools gold and we are going f*ck up our tank position and miss Cade and Suggs. This team just needs more talent and it would be so Knick for us to be good this year and end up sucking again next year.

haliburton has a better than 5:1 assist to turnover ratio while shooting over 50% from 3 on nearly 5 attempts per game

That conversation looks familiar

I don’t get why he went all in on him after one game. It’s still too damn early to write anyone off

Bro this team is not making the playoffs.

We'll get the 12th pick in the draft.

This was what the board thought in July:

#1 - LaMelo Ball
#2 - Anthony Edwards
#3 - James Wiseman
#4 - Killian Hayes
#5 - Deni Avdija
#6 - Tyrese Haliburton
#7 - Onyeka Okongwu
#8 - Cole Anthony
#9 - Kira Lewis
#10 - Obi Toppin
#11 - Devin Vassell

We are young with draft picks and cap space. If we are good this year, we likely will only be better the next.

he was the pick.

I overanalyzed it and started to drink the anti-haliburton koolaid everyone was passing around once he became popular.

Yeah, Haliburton has some skills.

Fox looks mad different without his hair.

Nurk's head is in the game again.

Gdamn CJ is cooking this year.

Melo washed.

Lillard scoring but just doesn't seem like Dame Time yet.

Melo Watch this year:

Currently 14th all time in NBA scoring. 17th if you count ABA combined totals. Could reach as high as 9th all time for NBA.

9. Moses Malone 27409
10. Elvin Hayes* 27313
11. Hakeem Olajuwon* 26946
12. Oscar Robertson* 26710
13. Dominique Wilkins* 26668
14. Carmelo Anthony 26530

I think it's fair to say nobody really wanted Obi, basically he's the red headed step child and we want him to succeed, but the odds are already stacked against him.

I would. They will likely try to move Monk too.
