Don't understand the last sentence?
he's saying we caught a lot of lucky breaks this year and our record is a little inflated because of that

Randle effed the spacing up though wanting the ball 1v1 and gravitating too close to the ball. But yeah he shouldn't have even attempted the p&r with Taj. Should have just dished it to Randle with ~5 seconds to try and cook something up 1v1 on AD

I know he was having a tough game but law of averages says he would have come up with some clutch block or steal in OT like he always did during the 9 game win streak. but noooo thibs wants to close the game with taj gibson, like he did in most of the losses before the win streak happened. bad adjustment thibs! I don't like losing! change it back!

All Thibs does is ISO and if the player doesn't hit the tough contested shots then the Knicks lose, if they hit them the Knicks win....that's the sum of his offense in crunch time. Every time, that is a recipe of losing close games if you don't have the best tough shot makers in the league and the Knicks don't have them. Randle has made a few and missed a few, he's average as a go to guy.
Thibs offensive scheming struggles have been the same all season and in the playoffs it will be exposed because he doesn't have the elite shooters to cover for his lacking. How hard is that to understand? Oh, you didn't, you ramble off a bunch of nonsense that's in your head not what I said so why did you even quote me if you talk to yourself? I will be gateful if you go away, ok?
That’s a pretty rough assessment for game 6 of a 6 game Western swing 68 games in with your two best bench shooters injured. Not to mention our best rebounder and only (starting) lob finisher still out.
The thibs offense isn’t genius, but it does rely on the iso player to penetrate and kick. RJ being ice cold and Bullock being MIA tonight made it come down to ISO Rose & Randle.
One thing Julius could work on is finishing as the roll man. He pretty much exclusively looks to pop or reset for an iso post.
Full arsenal of shooters (or god forbid leaving in Frank when he’s hot), and the offense is fine. Not great, but not terrible either.
Thibs is not very creative offensively, all season long during the 4th qrts he relies on his players to make tough shots. This isn't something I'm saying for the first time, it's something Ive said even after games when the players make the shots.
So much of the Knicks offense late in games is created off a standstill and really the only action is a screen for the ball handler. Sure, Randle and Rose can make some tough shots but to rely on that is only going to get the Knicks so far.
In this game it didn't help them that the few shooters the Knicks had available weren't that hot, the Knicks missed having other options like IQ and Burks. It's one of the areas the Knicks need a talent upgrade in but if the talent is lesser and the coaching won't make up for that then this is what can happen....and did.

I don't think he even should have been in the game, when you're 2-12 and you sit pretty much the entire 4th you're too cold to come in and win the game

lakers defense was excellent in crunch time. there wasn't an easy pass to make anywhere. that clip that showed the poor spacing out of that inbounds pretty much sums up how the team didn't help itself.
i agree that randle taking an even longer shot (40 feet) is better than the look RJ got at 35 with guys draped all over him. you just really want to have defended THT better after such a big shot. and you damn sure wanted to put a body on wes matthews in regulation. agonizing.
we move on.
