Raptors fans turning on IQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He’s just not a pg Folksssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ill give raps fans this:

they seem smart

took them 20 games to figure out what some Knicks fans couldn't figure out in 3 seasons.

IQ is not a pg. he's a slashing offball SG that's best suited coming off the bench because he's a good on-ball defender but only against PGs.

Many of us said he was a great 6man. It was his perfect role. Oh well. Not our problem they needed to start him. Maybe he gets better with time.

I don't think raps fans should be too twisted up about IQ? whatever contract he gets will be "worth" it. I guess they are still at square 1 on team building if they dont know if scottie barnes can be the primary ball handler.

certainly better than whatever rj's contract is

The real question is... Will Masai give him the 5 years $120 million deal that Quickley is looking for?

Nah, he’s an RFA. As long as the Raptors claim they’ll re-sign him, they’ll be able to drive down the price, like the Lakers and Reeves.

He’s gotta play better though. He seems to be slumping with his inside game. I got faith though…he can put it together, just like he always has. Best Knicks draft pick in a long time, most improved Knicks draft pick in a long while.

If the Raps low ball him too much, he could just pick up 5th year option and become a UFA the following year. That would be much worse for the Raps especially if he has a big year next season.

His camp didn't see that. They saw an All-Star and he wanted starters' money. This is the time he needs to shine and he is showing that he is an undersized 2-guard or a 6MOY candidate every year. Dude gotta pick his role soon or the league will do that for you.

Does anyone else see a similarity between Quickley and Kyrie? Not in terms of talent, but in terms of a guy thinking that he is more of a valuable asset than what he actually is?

I watch a lot of GSW and this man straight kills them in a lot of their games, just because he doesn't accept that he isn't THAT dude anymore.
the quality of shots that he takes is really brutal. but that seems more important to him than winning at this stage.

you play against starters, things get harder.

this is what people dont understand about netrating or plus/minus

IQ had a great +/- with the knicks because he came off the bench and beat up other backups. in fact, his best +/- came when he was off the ball and played next to derrick rose.

it shouldn't shock anyone that when he started playing against other starters and for more minutes that his defensive stats went down and his overall plus minus impact went down.

I think it has more to do with the change of role than with starting/coming off the bench.

The numbers with him and the starters in NY were great. But he was playing with Brunson, so he wasn't the primary ballhandler.

He's learning to play in a role he never knew before. IQ's impact may still go back up if he ever learns the role, but I think he may just be a 2-guard or at least a secondary ball-handler as a starter.

Brown being traded for DLo as Knicks miss out even on plan C. Also of note, both Raps and Knicks traded damaged goods to each other.

I think it's more about their team construction than RJ/IQ/Barnes. I kind of don't see IQ there long term, honestly. I wonder if they given thought on starting RJ at the PF, Barnes at SF, and IQ at SG. IQ is a better fit at SG. Curious if they kept Fred and how he'd look next to IQ.

Hot take: Mikal Bridges is damn good, but not that good. Dare I say overrated?

He's not 1st or 2nd option good but pretty good as a 3rd or even 4th option and is a plus defender. The Suns were so close as a championship team when he was there and he was pretty much that for them.

More importantly, he has been the most durable player in the NBA so far playing in 425 consecutive games. How many players can we say have played in 400+ straight games?

Knicks should have traded for Mikal instead of OG. At least Mikal plays.
