Teams always seem to adjust in January.

I'd suppose Brown was brought in for two reasons. That he can make adjustments to the adjustments in season but particularly the playoffs, better than Thibs. Might be true. Better be true. Might not be true.

I'd figure there was enough player noise from players considered important enough that minutes and/or offensive flexibility were reported.

I liked Thibs. It was a great story there being synergy between Leon, Thibs, Brunson.

That said, I don't think Dolan just rode in and blew that up. Leon and other members of the FO felt they needed to shake up the coaching. It might still not pan out, but I THINK the thought process was they paid a lot for Mikal and KAT and Thibs wasn't getting 100% out of them. I'd think the FO felt that Brunson, OG and Hart bring it no matter who is the coach.

We did look really good to start the season last year. Also remember Hart was shooting out of his mind. I actually thought he had fixed all his shooting woes. We were running tons of pick and roll with Jalen and KAT and then it all stopped. Obviously our record proves we didnt totally suck but looking back we were elite right up until January and then stayed mediocre enough to still finish with a top 3 record. I actually predict this team to start mediocre trying to figure this system out and then progressively look elite right up until the playoffs. Probably finish with a similar record.

Would love to see a stat, because I don't recall many pick and rolls between KAT and JB. KAT sets some of the lightness picks/screens I've ever seen from a big man. I feel like these two never delivered on that 1-2 punch we were expecting.

easier to do that than blame themselves

Might be that. But if they think he didn't get 100% from them, I think most FOs do this same thing.

All in all the Knicks have a very good team but hardly some lights out championship team.
They addressed depth in a pretty good way all things considered.

But most chip teams have two dominant creative guys and then you surround them with the necessary role players.

But it's Brunson and... KAT? Not an individual creator. Bridges? Not really either. Very good players but not the prototype.

And then the shooters are a mixed bag. OG shoots good from here, Yabu from there, Bridges from here, Deuce can't drive, Mitch can't shoot etc.

This is why that JTWill guy keeps writing encyclopedias every few days trying to figure out the lineups.

straightman buzzard is cooking
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I just saw a season preview show on NBA TV by some lesser known people, and they mentioned the Knicks two man game of Kat and JB, as if it was what carried the offense last year. Last season I recall Monica McNutt talking about the great two man pnr game and it was like, huh?

I didn't think the two stars had much chemistry or synergy at all.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Back to normal schedule on Thursday. Can't wait to watch an actual game.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
