yeah, by default of the ones in front totally stinking up the joint.

I still maintain they will get in, and wouldn't be surprised they actually put up a fight.

I missed the game today, but do the Lakers play with any hustle whatsoever?

No..

Which tells me they're just going to wait to hustle during the last 10-15 games of the season and make the playoffs as an 8th seed.

Laker fans can't say we didn't warn them. DAntoni is so bad at making career decisions , glad he's being exposed by both NY and LA media.

Now you're just making the same mistake Capn'O did - the record doesn't lie. Lakers are a bad team and they are not making the playoffs (unless some trade completely changes the dynamic of the team).

Lakers aren't worse than the Rockets, Blazers, or the limping Wolves. Lakers have too much talent not to at least pass those three struggling teams. All that talent may not get them far in the playoffs, but it has to give them some kind of floor. They'll get it together enough to make the 8th seed (only 3 games back).

It's 3 games separating where they are and the 8th seed currently, with all those teams having competition of how long there losing streak will go.

Nothing is made up there, i said they'd make it by default.

You're discounting the D'antoni factor. The man is simply a disgrace.

The lakers will make the playoffs but with Dantoni dont be so sure he is capable of miracles, Kobe will chuck the Lakers into the playoffs. They will be probably be a 6 or 5 seed.

How is this a bad career decision? The Lakers offered him 3 years, $12 million and he took it. That's his last big pay check. I don't see him getting another. He's 61. He'll be 64 by the end of his deal with the Lakers.

For the talent on that roster, the 8th seed is a disgrace. Making the 8th seed would have Antoni's fingerprints all over it.

if D'antoni and McHale were the only guys in the room, who would you ask to for coaching tips?

True, but if they don't make it, does he get fired?

McHale because he seems knowledgable as a commentator and his coaching record isn't too bad.

McHale actually went 34-32 last season with the Rockets. He was also 19-12 in the 04'-'05 season as interim head coach for the Wolves. Rockets are at .500 right now. The only time he's had a losing record was when he coached the Wolves for 63 games during the '08-'09 season, the year he had sent KG to the Celtics for Al Jefferson.

That's a tough one. Probably Mike. He at least has a plan, although he lacks in execution.

The Rockets' losing streak made it more plausible, but it's still not happening IMO. Lakers are full strength and they just lost to the Raptors.

It would take around 45 wins to make the playoffs. That means they need to go 28-16 the rest of the way. I just can't see how it's going to happen.

One question two different answers.

But yeah, I would pick D'antoni as well, D'antoni is stubborn as hell, but McHale doesn't even coach.
