What makes him number 1? Because he has money ? Or because espn told you he was ?
And I don’t side with Dolan, I side with rules are rules. Spike isn’t the only one with money who goes to knick games.

Nothing but an overrated sell out shill who hasn't directed a movie worth watching in a longer period of time than he has been attending Knicks games. It is very fascinating how the majority of his success has come from exploiting the type of people from the neighbourhoods that he once belonged to. I do not understand who on earth hand selected him to be the face of NY Knicks fandom.

What has he ever done for the Knicks or their fans base, besides be a stooge? Why should his feelings regarding MSG or the Knicks even matter to us? Why should we care if he spent money that very few people have access to on something that brought him pleasure for several decades? Because he is a celebrity we should place him on a special pedestal for claiming to support the same team that we root for?

I despise how the rich and powerful elite want the world to believe that they are these altruistic victims in order to distract us from the real issues that the majority of common people are battling with in life. There are many unfortunate people from midtown Manhattan that hang around Penn Plaza who don't have money to even get a train ride and yet Spike Lee wants us to sympathize with him regarding whether he goes through a certain entrance of a sporting arena? This is absolutely laughable!

he hasn't done anything relevant is well over a Decade. He should be thankful that he isn't getting the you used to be a star treatment. Heck, some of the posters here weren't born the last time he made a good movie.

This reminds me of a situation I know a lot of us have seen. You've been going to the same bar or club for years and you bartender knows your 21 and o er so they stop caring you. Some cases the manager knows you too. One day you and your buddy's come in and your bartender ask for your I.D. She tells you they're informing the policy that EVERYBODY must show I.D. It's their job. You can get mad because the policy is being enforced. Is it really that bad for him to go to the celebrity entrance like everyone else?

Now on another note Dolan could have informed him ahead of time like in a season ticket holders meeting.

People can bash Spike all they want for being rich, entitled, bratty, and making irrelevant movies for decades now; but none of that has ever hurt the Knicks.

To all the authoritarian rule followers out there....

This wasn’t MSG uniformly enforcing policies. This was “strong man” Jim Dolan personally flexing through his brute squad because he didn’t like Spike’s public statements about selling the team.

In a battle of two spoiled bratty narcissists, I’ll take the one who hasn’t single handedly destroyed the New York Knicks franchise over the past two decades.

Dislike Spike all you want, but defending Dolan?

He won an Oscar last year for best adapted screenplay for BlacKkKlansman. So much for not being relevant....

Hey Spike if you aren’t going to anymore games this season I know a bunch of die hard fans that would cherish the opportunity to sit court side and not complain they didn’t get access to the employee elevator. Us die hards watched the games from our local bar or in the nosebleeds. I’ve seen more Knick games at the Continental Airlines Arena than at MSG. I have no sympathy for either side except the security guy who was just doing his job.

The guys defending Dolan are the ones that probably liked him strong arming Donnie Walsh to bring in Carmelo. Just because somebody questions Dolan doesn't mean you have to go and defend him. It doesn't make you any less of a Knicks fan. Dolan is just a rich spoiled kid.

Spike is more important to the Garden than man-child James Dolan. If Drake can go nearly anywhere in Toronto's ScotiaBank Arena, Spike should be able to continue to use the entrance he's been using for 28 years. But I don't make the rules, I just want Dolan to **** off.

Spike spends about 300k a year on his seats, horrible treatment to a guy who’s literally spent millions of dollars with your franchise despite many losing seasons.

Jim Dolan just doesn't get it and never will. Does he not realize he gets no benefit of the doubt from the public? Does he not realize that pulling sh*t like this will look badly upon him and the team? Does he not realize that this just reinforces everyone's opinion about him?

Jim, sometimes you have to look in the mirror and realize that it's not everyone else, it's you. And you know it was his direct instruction to release that cringey PR statement. For a guy that is comically defensive he sure likes to publicly wage petty battles with fans and former players.

Anyone defending this man     Time to take off the orange and blue glasses.

Yeah, man... $3,500 a seat?

as much as he spends on this crappy team, he deserves to be treated respectfully

Lee trying to come through the employees entrance, got to talk to the owner than chose to make a mountain out of a mole hill. **** Spike lee, it has nothing to do with Dolan.

Check his latest fukery:

“What’s gonna be next? They want somebody to get killed in there?” said Oakley, whose defamation suit against Dolan stemming from his February 2017 arrest was dismissed last month. Oakley believes Dolan is a “control freak” who shouldn’t sit courtside if he doesn’t want to hear criticism. “If you wanna stop people from saying stuff, don’t come to the games,” Oakley said. “You can’t be that sensitive.” – via Justin Tasch @ New York Post
James Dolan, Owners, Spike Lee, Charles Oakley, New York Knicks

really Oak. Really? You pushing and threatening an actual Cops at MSG was more dangerous than ANYTHING that is likely to happen court side or otherwise. Who knows what could have popped off if that cop lost his cool.
