Once.
You know we are failing terribly if we draft high repeatedly.

We've been bad the entire century. We should have been picking as high as possible almost every year for almost ten straight now. There were multiple all stars in the top 5 every year since we lost Amare to injury. What singles us out as the absolute worst shtshow is that we basically never draft in the top 3 and don't mention KP this piece of ****. We got lucky with that 3rd pick that we used on RJ, but he's a complimentary piece now. That happens, so we need to try again.

Instead we're rolling out rosters year after year with veterans that will of course beat the absolute worst teams every other day, completely ignoring the fact that THEY HAVE A BIGGER PLAN AND WE DON'T. They gladly take those losses against us and we're the moron who drives home with that stupid grin. The Warriors are three time champions, had the best team ever and last year drafted way before us. You think Curry couldn't have played last February had it already been the playoffs? They're at home laughing at us.

So yeah, I want to draft high again, especially in 2021.

We beat the Cavs early this year and MFers were literally delighted because they were 3-0 or whatnot. They suck! We suck! Yes, Randle too.

It’s going to take a lot of time to see that come to fruition. I’m just looking for the signs. The consistency will come.

How many guys barely even gave us signs?

According to this board, every young player we’ve had has shown “signs” and yet not one contract extension given to any of them.

Since Dolan has been in charge the only signs on any of our young players are "For Sale" signs. Haven't extended a single rookie since Charlie Ward and we've had over a handful that have deserved it.

I can’t wait to see you embrace him with open arms when he’s back in a NYK uniform. It’s just destiny at this point with how much knicks fans hate him now

I mostly watch for quickley, knox, and toppin development, side dish of RJ development. Mitch probably is who he is at this point, but can be fun to watch at times as well.

Not really much interest in watching the rest of the team. Burks might be worth keeping an eye on as we stay desperate for shooters. DSJ is trash and done, Frank is perpetually injured and probably on his way out with him. Randle hopefully building up his trade value, Noel and Rivers aren't very exciting, Payton and Bullock make me want to throw something at my tv. And I really am not looking forward to more Taj Gibson

I'm already ready for the season to be over, it feels like a fake season anyway since we can't go to games, and also to get 2 more firsts and an early 2nd added to the mix.

I mean in recent memory I’m trying to think who deserved it. I would say probably Gallo and Chandler did but if you can trade role players for a superstar you kind of should do it. Shump? Hardaway jr.? Jordan Hill..Renaldo Balkman. Toney Douglas...Jerian Grant? Like the Knicks haven’t really drafted anyone in the first round in the last decade that have deserved an extension besides KP.

look, if he was healthy it would have been fine but he hasn't proven he can remain that for too long. until he does, you can't claim we're missing something.

When did I say that? I have said Compete messed up our window (pairing him with a top pick in 2018 draft / ton of cap space with promising core for 2019 FA) or that he would have fit in well with RJB and Mitch.

I just think it would be hilarious if he ever did come back purely for the chaos. Strictly a Buzz type motivation.

Lee probably is the obvious one. Didn’t we give him a 1 year bump for 09-10? But that contract GSW gave him was crazy.

We’ll pay Mitch this off-season if he’s still here. Probably 4/50-60

i'm sorry, i thought "i miss that unicorn was you". it was someone else. i always said i would have signed him but it might have been the right decision not to. it reminds me a bit of gallo, people talk about how bad it was to trade him away and ignore that he's always missing half a season.

That's part of the problem too. We just haven't drafted well. All these years being bad and very little to show for it

yeah. it reminds me a bit of how we looked when phil was here. a bunch of running around and passes that lead to nothing.

I haven’t changed my stance that at the time we got fair value. I wouldn’t have done the deal, but you can look at what they did in a vacuum and still see that they did get a solid return.

Idk if I hate any Knicks related argument more than the Gallo / Chandler for Melo. Ppl always forget how many awful games these guys had even during the 10-11 season. Mix in the mild success we had post trade, all while these guys missed 400+ games combined during their next contracts.

I won’t take the next star we have for granted

yep. i'm having this internal debate now where, after this year, maybe the knicks should make some financial commitments to players and live with the fact that the team is not going to be a contender even if the talent maxes out. i can't see doing another year of mercenaries and praying for a savior in the draft. the knicks have to establish themselves as something more than a joke eventually.
