Dame will be 31 in two weeks. He hasn't played a single Finals game, or won a single game in the Conference Finals.

This is the sort of trade that just spells doom for a franchise.

For a 27 year-old Dame? Why not. For a 31 year-old Dame, it's malpractice. Imo.

I would trade for Lillard in a heartbeat but that's too much.


The entire purpose of trading for Lillard is so that we can pair him with RJ and Randle. RJ can always be traded later for another player but not for Lillard as we truly wouldn't have any assets remaining and would be street begging UFAs to sign with the team.


Obi + 4FRPs + 3 FRP swaps is what I'd offer. It's comparable to the James Harden trade.

They also gave up Jarrett Allen and Prince. I would keep Quickley but give up RJ,Obi,Knox , 3-4FRPs

yeah they did that to help balance contracts though. we dont need to do that, plus I think we all can agree that Harden >> Lillard

Different circumstance because harden wanted Brooklyn only so it was pretty much guaranteed the rockets would get fleeced in that deal. if dame says new york only maybe we can get a similar discount, but doubtful

It's not at all comparable to the Harden trade, because we don't have Kyrie and KD level players already on the team and Lillard is locked up for 4 years, so the Blazers can control where he goes and have leverage in trades to get max returns. You do these kind of trades if you already have a true superstar to pair the player with and additional talent still on the roster.


We're in no position to trade for Lillard, you keep removing RJ from the trades because you know we actually don't have anything else on the team if he's traded in the package. The reality is that a Dame would cost us RJ and then 2 of the 3 between Mitch, IQ and Obi, if not all 3.
