To me it’s a good trade only 6 picks.
4 picks not even our own .
Knicks 2023 pick.
Then 1 more pick and your done? Is it a swap even better?
A guy on GB called the players JAGs. Just another guy.
IMO their value highest right now wait until:
1. Quickley not even normal backup behind rose.
2. Grimes liable for Dnps
3. Obi 12 mins per game .
Trading them now would be selling high next thing you know they won’t fetch anything ,
What was those guys value at the trade deadline ? They probably had less value than cam reddish.

This ain’t really like the Melo trade.
Knicks gave up Wilson chandler and Danilo Galinari.
The Knicks youths have combined 24ish career starts .
Each of Wilson and Danilo had double the starts that very year for the Knicks before they were traded .
Obi is the most regrettable to send out , he might be Al Horford in the future. Maybe he never makes an all star game . Let Utah figure it out because he is a bench player for us .

I truly believe that holding on to one or both of Quickley and Toppin will be the difference between a 2nd round team at most and a perennial contender.

You're vastly undervaluing them based on Thibs's stubbornness to play them last season. It's all about focusing on putting the right pieces together as opposing to putting the most talent on the court. The two players we need to trade are Randle and RJ.

This organization has to learn to step away from these kind of offers if they ever want to be taken seriously.
Do you blame him for trying given that Dolan is sitting on the other side of the table and the NY media is going crazy?

Yea bro I’m just remembering who our coach is. Hey I value them but what will their value be in the court this season ? They can easily be riding the bench again because all we got rid of is:
Kemba- didn’t play
Noel- didn’t play
Burks- played out of position .
Added:
Brunson
Cam
Hartenstein
Like I get there is an attachment but you won’t care what obi is doing when you actually have Donovan Mitchell on your team .

If we can get Donovan Mitchell without trading Immanuel Quickley or RJ Barrett, that would be one hell of a trade.

RJ is not on the table.
People aren’t complaining about picks.
They are holding on to a bench player .
For a star .
It’s like the lakers letting a bench player like THT keep them from Lowry trade. Unless 6moy quality a lot of bench guys probably replaceable by the vet minimum exception. Denny Schroeder still out there .

Trade Randle and/or RJ and everything opens up for our guys. People here overrate RJ. As I've been saying, he's a high-usage, low efficiency player whose defense is overrated. RJ and Randle (but RJ more so) will not succeed with two other higher usage and more efficient guards in Brunson and Mitchell. Just my opinion.

Granted and thank you. My most respectful retort:
Right now I’m only focused on the trade in front of me.
Right now you have a plan to ditch 2 of the Knicks most productive players to make way for hypothetical production and still no plan for a true superstar.
Right now I can’t conjure the market for Julius or rj because we are in business as we speak and they aren’t being considered .
That’s like a team telling me my starting batters are useless I want your backup batters I’m like nah .

I truly believe that these dudes can be replaced easily going forward as they don’t provide any combination of skill that you can’t find elsewhere. These guys don’t matter to me. Using then in contact of perennial contention sounds over the top to me.
They are the PJ Washington, KCP, Gary Harris or Austin Rivers of New York - at best. You get these guys on MLE every year.

Here's the thing that I'm not sure our front office understands; we hold all the leverage. We don't have to make a move, so fck Ainge. Let him play with Donovan and a bunch of scrubbinos. I'm fine with the team we have going into this year.

Nah man, you have to have a vision for the future; not just the trade in front of you.
My point is that I would draw a bright line with Ainge in demanding that he take back either Randle or RJ in this trade along with the draft picks. I would also give up Cam, if necessary. But moving Randle or RJ begins to open up the court for everyone else. We can't move forward with Mitch, Randle, and RJ in the starting lineup. And Mitch provides the most defensively, so that leaves Randle and RJ; high usage/low efficiency players. You get my drift?

Well, I’m not so sure that’s true. We have a roster that is literally going nowhere with very, very… actually extremely middling talent.
You could actually say the time is now and the window for improvement is already closing since tanking and drafting difference makers is clearly off the table too after committing a lot of money to another solid, yet average player in Brunson. There is nobody going to be there for us in FA and a young trade target like Mitchell - outside of Miles Bridges - is unlikely to surface. Players like Mitchell never become available. It’s the headcases or the older, overrated guys that do.
It may really be now or never and Ainge knows that.

They just don’t want to pay a complementary guy before shaping the roster. That’s all. It’s what people don’t understand in New York.
