Only Edwards is a true money player

Both Booker and Mitchell have disappeared when needed in the playoffs

Neither of those two are as reliable as Brunson

Eh, Mitchell is a proven playoff performer and the only reason Cleveland didn’t get eliminated by the Magic last round.

No eh. DM disappeared against US in the playoffs last year. He was terrible

This team and finding ways to win when they really shouldn't is becoming an iconic duo

Another ho hum 40+ from Brunson. He may average that the rest of this series if all Indiana can do is throw Nesmith, McConnell and Nembhard at him. TJ gave him some fits but it seems like he's only good for 25 minutes before he gasses out.

This should be a BIG Divincenzo series and he showed up tonight after a roughish start. Indiana is not a good defense that is going to sell out to stop our biggest strengths which is rebounding and Brunson. Ragu needs to be a consistent threat the entire series to take advantage of them. Need Deuce to be playable to take some burden off the starters. You're not always going to get this offensive output from Hart someone else has to bring it....

The longer this series goes the worse it is for us. Next game is a MUST win IMO.

If I'm Thibs I'm giving Mitch one more game to prove he can play in this series. If he's as sloppy and lethargic as he was tonight, then I'm going Precious at the 5 and trying either Burks or Shake and not looking back. Knicks can survive with a rotation of 8 but the bench needs to give a bit more to be viable... Even if Burks or Shake can give you a solid 5-10 minutes of shooting and not getting torched defensively then that will.pay dividends later in the series for the starters.

Upside is the Pacers got crazy good games from TJ, Obi and IJax and still lost. If we can continue to hold Pascal and Hali in check we should win this series. Those role guys rarely stay consistently good especially away from home.

unsure if mentioned but this is definitely something you won't see shaq, charles, becky, butler or embiid talking about tomorrow

Image

literally the possession before the turner foul, nembhard grabs brunson's jersey, causes him to slip which leads to the turnover

so if you see someone crying about the call - bring that up and drink their tears for me

Remember all the jabber about losing so we would not have to face the Heat or Sixers?

Hope people learned to drop that kind of defeatist thinking

Hell if it was up to some people we’d be patiently waiting for ping pong balls again instead of watching playoff basketball

Tanks! I saw tanks everywhere! Russian tanks skating on the ice floes of Siberia. Tanks obliterated by heat seeking missles. Tanks monster trucking innocent cars. All of that carnage for what? Frank Ntilikina and Obi Toppin! Why? Why of god why?

We really gotta work on our late game execution, no reason Brunson should be holding it, surrounded by 2 Pacers with no one to pass to, and having trouble inbounding, etc. Stupid.

Did we have any timeouts left at that point? I was screaming at the tv to call timeout

The people of water starved Arizona have issued a capital bond to build a pipeline from Indianapolis to Phoenix for the transport of Hoosier tears.

All our starters were positive and all theirs were negative. Conversely our bench was negative and theirs was positive. And outscored our bench 46-3. We are going to have to hope the bench can perform a little better next time. But we won because we had the best player. That seems to be happening a lot for a team who Kenny smith said would never have the best player on the court

Didn't like the energy from the start---felt like the team had a certain sloppiness to them. The defense really was not good, a lot of miscommunication, players left open, open layups etc. Didn't like the offense either but due to JR's absence I'm not gonna be too hard on them there.

Must really really improve for game 2. Way too many mistakes committed here...we are lucky to have gotten the win.

Happy of course we got it in the end.

Hindsight is 50/50, but if you had polled the board in 2022 whether we should trade for Halliburton or sign Brunson instead we know what the result would have been

Sometimes it is the things that you don't do that makes you a winner

In 2022? People wanted Haliburton over Brunson after that bullsh*t in season tourney.

I always said that I would take Brunson over Haliburton because you can tell Jalen go get me 35 pts in the playoffs and he can do it. Haliburton can't. That's not his game.

He’s Darius Garland 2.0.

Nothing more than a product of the over-hyped draft media bubble. It was so absurd for him to be a starting AS. It will never happen again, nor will Garland ever make another ASG.

Meanwhile Brunson is looking like he has a legit shot at fist-ballot HoF’er.

Cute, but over the course of the game, Indy got its share of calls, too.

Yes Brunson gets mauled a lot with no calls, even though he gets to the line a lot it should be more.

Of course, they won't talk about it. It doesn't play into their narrative that the KNICKS are crap and that a short guard can never lead a team to the promised land.
