Not sure we still have our ‘26 lottery pick so I don’t think this trade is that helpful.

I wonder if theres a world where you can acquire Durant and JJJ. I assume KAT and one of Bridges/OG also goes out in that scenario.. But thats an interesting fit

Please no KD.
Bring back Johnnie Bryant as Thibs replacement.
If Papa Brunson is in the way then let him go as well.

the roster would be even more unbalanced than it already is.. but i’m for it

KAT shooting the lights out while Zion bullies in the paint? I wouldn't mind seeing that

The only things Zion bullies are the bench seats.

Where does this Johnnie Bryant loyalty come from? I’m not exactly a Thibs fan but this feels weird

KD would actually be good on the Pistons.
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

I think it’s cause he’s young and he has a good relationship with players. I’m not sure how his x and o’s are though so idk if I would hire him. Maybe if I was a rebuilding team I would take a chance on him

Durant is too.

I tried multiple trade combinations that don't involve trading Brunson, OG and KAT and none of them worked.

The idea that the Knicks are going to trade an all star possibly All NBA big man in his prime for a 37 year old Kevin Durant is just basketball malpractice.

If it's Giannis, sure. Giannis is a top 5 player. I make that trade today if I could, and I love Karl, but Giannis, OG, Brunson would do a lot of damage.

But Durant couldn't even get his team to the play in this season. He hasn't been a factor in actual winning in years. I keep bringing this up and people ignore it: go watch what happened to Durant vs Boston in 2022. I'd never trust that guy to elevate a team after that.

Sorry melo I don't see it my man :noway:

I know he got destroyed by Tatum in 2022. But you’re cherry picking only one series versus his whole playoff career where he’s been one of the best players of all time. Thats not fair.

There is a reason why there was no teams that wanted to trade for KAT besides us. His defense is the worst in the league at the 5 position. Which teams in recent have won a championship with an awful defender at the 5 besides Jokic who’s a future hall of a famer? You can’t name anyone.

Durant hasn't done anything in the post season since that happened though. He was really bad bro. Like nevermind Tatum. Al Horford was guarding Durant on switches and KD couldn't even take him off the dribble and was getting stripped.

I'm not making a case for KAT. I'm saying that trading him for a 37 year old Durant will be a horrible move.

His age, injury history, and frankly again, he's not a floor or ceiling raiser at this point.

Now if you want to trade for Giannis, and then flip possibly Mikal and Josh Hart for pieces that would fit around a Brunson/Giannis/OG core, that makes a lot more sense especially for the current timeline.

^how does that sound?

(The draft capital situation also complicates all of this and we might be stuck with this team)

What do you mean? He’s bounced back since that anomaly of a series. His last two years in the playoffs he’s averaged 28 PPG. Do you know how crazy it would be for Brunson to have a scorer like that next to him in the playoffs?

KAT is fools gold to me. KD is old which I get, but KAT has been a loser for the majority of his career, especially at the 5.

Id love to get Giannis and he’s definitely my preference over KD for sure.

Suns got swept last year by Karl's team and he was a negative on the floor in all 4 games. This year Phoenix couldn't make the play in. I think Durant won't give us what we need and it will be a lateral move. If we're gonna use Karl's salary slot to upgrade it has to be a win now player in their prime.

We agree on Giannis tho so I'm with you on that part

Durant and Booker couldn't even make the playoffs. Enough said.
