What makes him worse than the unknown quantities out there in your opinion?

I don't think he's going to do much to change the offense. The team isn't going anywhere if they don't at least become a dominant offensive unit. I feel like it's going to be the same **** for the most part. Iso heavy, slow paced, no ingenuity.

Kidd is probably way more open to the idea of an offensive architect (like bringing in Borrego) than Thibs ever was though.

Then again, Bryant went from associate coach with the Knicks to associate coach with the Cavs and Knicks didn't stop him or ask for assets.

Jason Kidd coached the Dallas Mavericks for 4 seasons (2021-22 to 2024-25), and Jalen Brunson played with the Mavericks for 4 seasons (2019-20 to 2021-22). Brunson's last season with the Mavericks, the 2021-22 season, was also Kidd's first season as their coach. Therefore, they overlapped for 1 season.

In 2014, the Brooklyn Nets traded Jason Kidd's coaching rights to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for two second-round draft picks. The Nets received a 2015 second-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick. This move allowed Kidd to become the Bucks' head coach.


If Bryant was the #1 clear cut candidate, He'd be our coach already. The fact that it is quiet on that front gives yet another reason why to think Kidd is very much our top target.

This is not without precedent either. Right now we are probably going back and worth with Dallas on compensation. If there is bad blood, they are probably currently asking for way more than necessary. Back then it was 2 2nds. Lets see what it will be now. Hopefully no more than 3 2nds....

Then if/when he is on board, we may start hearing the rumblings about Giannis wanting to come here.
